So far we've already seen the bear forms for Tauren and Night Elves. Today, Blizzard unveiled the replacements for the much-maligned Tauren cat form. You can see the results above. My initial reaction is that they're still a bit ugly, but way better than the previous Tauren cat form (which is marked "Old Cat form" above).
Here's what a few of our staff members thought:
Elizabeth: "A million times better. Still not as cool as night elf, but better."
Allison: "The eyes are way too small. Still going to be glad I play a bear."
Lesley: "Those horns are evil."
Alex: "I'm gonna roll a Tauren Druid so I can play that black one with the grey mane. I'm going to RP an old grizzled war vet Druid."

Yeah they look a bit weird when you first see them, but the more i look at them the more i like how they've kept the bulky lioned look, which was something i actually appreciated over the sleek night elf, other than the horrendous tauran cat face or course. So I say these are excellent, after all making a cow lion look cool cant be that easy.

They are really awesome, I know I'll probably get my comment turned grey but I honestly hope Night-elf cat forms aren't too impressive in comparison, now that we finally got something nice :)

So all there is to it is to wayt for new aliiance cat form that is nowere near as cool as tauren and nobady whants to play them. I realy hope there is an option to play original alliance bear -_-

Wow!!!!!
All I have to say is that I'm starting a druid. I've wanted one for a long time but never seemed to get one past level 20. These new forms are a definite incentive.
The new cat and bear forms are gorgeous, I honestly have no complaints. The old models were horribly outdated graphically, and it really shows when they're put side-to-side like that. I'm glad the new models have Northrend's level of quality.
Playing Horde, I really hated the poor Tauren's cat form when compared to the Night Elf one. The Night Elves got a wicked looking black panther while we got stuck with a fugly lion. That alone really made me hesitate at keeping my druid going. These new cats are just stunning, I can't even express how much I love them! I'm curious what the Night Elf form will be, if they're revamping it altogether or just giving it a quality update.
Anyways, can't wait to go make a Tauren druid now. ^^

They look about a billion times better but the cat form and the bear form I like aren't remotely the same coloring. Does this mean if I want to spend any real time in either I need to pay a ton of money at the barber for switching back and forth?

I really think this new form kinda sukks, i am verry disapointed about it. Iv seen better forms on amateur sites. It looks atm more like a Disney toon like (indeed) scar...
Blizz...U can do better then this, idea is good then skin tone scales with cat form, but the form is so lame..i stil like the old alliance cat form better then this creation.
its just not giving me the whoooowww...feeling atm if i look at this.

Sorry to say, but the ones Blizzard have created far surpass those of that fansite by leaps and bounds. Blizz didn't just make new skins, they're new models.

Jeeesuzzz, These also have horns and look retarded. Hey Blizzard, thanks for nothing. I'm sure glad you put years of anxiety over druid forms to rest with some crap that looks just as awful as the old forms.

To me, I think that the new cat and bear forms are supposed to resemble the original creature. When I look at the tauren bear and/or the cat forms, I see the original Tauren inside. Similarly, I see the Nelf in their respective bear form. I think that these work quite well, though the canine teeth on the tauren cat form need some work work to bring it in line with the rest of the teeth (case in point is the white fur/grey mane cat; those canines are sitting way too high in comparison to the gums).
So well done! I rolled a Tauren Druid ages ago and never played him. Now I have a reason to. I like it.

First I have to say I love the new form!! I can't wait to be raiding in this new skin. Honestly I'll probably keep my current fur color and go with whatever that gets me, since both bear and cat Taurens rock!
The only thing I would change on the cat form is to not have a nose ring with every form. Not every Tauren sports a nose ring so at least give us one or two cat form without it.
Other than that I'm totally stoked for 3.2. Anyone want to harbor a guess when it will get released?
