Theoretically their numbers are off, but it makes sense in the fact that the idea of a massacre of 70000 people is a reference to the Pendragon series. Either that, or it's coincidence and they're just horrible at math.

Actually adding on that 9% is kind of the very definition of rounding up.
It's a simple question of what you're rounding up to.
