When I read about the removal of the chests in the instances, I immediately thought of how common it was to find hacked account characters in those instances. The thought was they wer farming the chests through an exploit.
My next thought was of the "instance can't be launched" many people are experiencing at the moment. If the BC instances were still popular places for hackers to farm, maybe making it less worthwhile for them is also a sideways attempt to take some pressure off the instance servers and maybe open up a few more slots for legit players.
I hope so, anyway.
