Mountain Dew Game Fuel, WoW-themed flavors of the popular beverage in red and blue (for the Horde and Alliance, respectively), is out in the wild, and at least one of our writers is already a big fan. To show how much they love you (or rather, to try to get you to buy their soda), Mountain Dew will give you a free in-game Battle Bot pet, just for clicking a button on their web site! The button is towards the lower-right, and it'll redirect you to log in to your Battle.net account. Don't worry, it's safe - you can tell by the Battle.net URL. He's a cute little guy. You can see a few screenshots I took in the gallery below.
Apparently you get in-game fuel for your pet, again in red or blue, and when you fuel them up, they will fight opposite colors. If you give your pet blue fuel and the guy next to you gives it red, expect some robot-on-robot fighting action. I'm not sure if you have to get the appropriate fuel for your faction, since it seems you can only get one in-game item per day, and I already got my battle bot. I'll try it tomorrow and see how it goes.
Edit: It looks like we've killed the Mountain Dew website. Keep trying though, it's bound to come back up sometime...
Edit 2: The pet is mailed to all of your characters, so you don't have to decide which one gets it.

I can't think of any reason for this, all I know is that it worked for me when I used IE but wouldn't load on Firefox

Also, about the fuel. It states right on the redemption page.
"Return to the Mountain Dew Game Fule website each day to recieve a case of battle Fuel for your Battle-Bot!"
So you can only get the bot today, and get the fuel every day afterwards, until it ends...if it does.

why in the hell is this not open to EU players... im sorry but a FREE in game pet should not be restricted to US servers. If i LIVED in America i would LIVE off of Mountain Dew, but i don't so i cant!

It IS available to the EU, just go to the site log on using the US Battle.net site, and then when it comes up with 'Sorry US only' you can STILL click redeem and get it sent to your EU characters.

That's the link the redeem button on the Mountain Dew website sends you to. Since battle.net isn't being swamped right now it works fine and after logging in will get your pet.

I'm an EU player and I was able to get mine. The site wasn't working for me in Firefox so I tried the just released Safari 4 (I'm on a Mac btw) and it let me redeem one!
It took me to Battle.net where I had to log in. It gave me a message about it being only available to US WoW accounts but I clicked redeem and it worked. Just logged in now to find a message from Jepetto Joybuzz with the Battle Bot Ignition Key in it.

I finally got in. =) I'm very pleased that all your characters get one in their mailbox, though I wish it were bind to account instead. Oh well. I guess I can't get everything.

Saw this comment coming...

So you can only get the bot on the first day. After you redeem your bot, the next day you can start to get your fuel.

does each character get the in-game email, or do you have to choose a character to attach this to?

I just got it... my level 80 main and my level 3 bank alt both got it, so I'm assuming every character gets it. Be sure to hit all your characters!

The pet is not bind to account, but it appears as if one is mailed to all characters on your account.
I've only checked two of my characters, one Horde and one Alliance.
