Mountain Dew Game Fuel, WoW-themed flavors of the popular beverage in red and blue (for the Horde and Alliance, respectively), is out in the wild, and at least one of our writers is already a big fan. To show how much they love you (or rather, to try to get you to buy their soda), Mountain Dew will give you a free in-game Battle Bot pet, just for clicking a button on their web site! The button is towards the lower-right, and it'll redirect you to log in to your Battle.net account. Don't worry, it's safe - you can tell by the Battle.net URL. He's a cute little guy. You can see a few screenshots I took in the gallery below.
Apparently you get in-game fuel for your pet, again in red or blue, and when you fuel them up, they will fight opposite colors. If you give your pet blue fuel and the guy next to you gives it red, expect some robot-on-robot fighting action. I'm not sure if you have to get the appropriate fuel for your faction, since it seems you can only get one in-game item per day, and I already got my battle bot. I'll try it tomorrow and see how it goes.
Edit: It looks like we've killed the Mountain Dew website. Keep trying though, it's bound to come back up sometime...
Edit 2: The pet is mailed to all of your characters, so you don't have to decide which one gets it.

woo, i've got mine on an EU server too.
I did have to set up a battle.net account though despite it saying WoW accounts WERE battle.net

Is the pet account bound? Or soulbound? I'd rather have it on my main, but my Mage has the skunk achievement, and thirsts for more pets!

Good question. I hope it's not a "one time only" deal. Maybe they'll add it to Jepetto Joybuzz after the promotion. Of course that would make sense to don't hold your breath lol.

Care to tell us how you did it? I clicked on the same link on the game fuel site and it tells me that I already redeemed something today and to try again tomorrow.

I had to set up an EU battlenet account and tie my WoW account to it before it would allow me to claim anything. But when i claimed the bot, i was already logged in, so it took me straight through t redeeming it.
The second time, i opened it and changed the URL (swapped the two us references to EU because thats where i am) then logged in, and it let me claim it.

Lol holy crap it works.
Click on the link on the game fuel site, and on the redemption page push STOP to prevent it from redirecting you. Then change the "us" at the start of the URL to "EU" and push enter, it will then proceed to the redemption page and ask you what color fuel you would like to redeem.

got an xml error afterwards and it says I now have to wait 24 hours, too bad, atleast I got it xD

Yeah it seems to not work anymore. Maybe they fixed it lol. But I was able to do it before it stopped working. Checked my mailbox and the bot and fuel were waiting for me :P

Ok, the Battle.net login site CLEARLY STATES:
"*All Blizzard Accounts have been converted into new Battle.net accounts."
Yet when i enter my wow account info it will not accept it. I tried several times, tried logging into worldofwarcraft.com just to make sure i was using the right account info, which i was, went back to the battle.net login page and tried several more times and it still didn't work. I'm using IE7.
Anyone else having the same problem?

I'm thinking a "Blizzard Account" is not the same as the "World of Warcraft Account". If you don't have a Battle.net account you will have to set one up. Once you set it up there will be an option to MERGE your WoW account with your Battle.net account.

why thankyou, i do try. Although i was actually on the EU site for both logins. might just be the fact i was logged in generally that made the first one work, cos i didnt change it the first time round.
so MESSAGE to redeem fuel as well, change the URL to EU in both places it says US.

I'm thinking blizzard account means any blizzard game account. I've never heard of just a generic blizzard account before. I don't even know what such a thing would be fore. Can anyone confirm one way or the other?

You need to have merged your WoW account to a Battle.net account. If you never did that, do that.

I keep going to that home page mentioned, and I'm not seeing the link in the bottom right corner. All i get is the enter for a chance at Blizcon graphic. Anyone else having this issue?
