Mountain Dew Game Fuel, WoW-themed flavors of the popular beverage in red and blue (for the Horde and Alliance, respectively), is out in the wild, and at least one of our writers is already a big fan. To show how much they love you (or rather, to try to get you to buy their soda), Mountain Dew will give you a free in-game Battle Bot pet, just for clicking a button on their web site! The button is towards the lower-right, and it'll redirect you to log in to your Battle.net account. Don't worry, it's safe - you can tell by the Battle.net URL. He's a cute little guy. You can see a few screenshots I took in the gallery below.
Apparently you get in-game fuel for your pet, again in red or blue, and when you fuel them up, they will fight opposite colors. If you give your pet blue fuel and the guy next to you gives it red, expect some robot-on-robot fighting action. I'm not sure if you have to get the appropriate fuel for your faction, since it seems you can only get one in-game item per day, and I already got my battle bot. I'll try it tomorrow and see how it goes.
Edit: It looks like we've killed the Mountain Dew website. Keep trying though, it's bound to come back up sometime...
Edit 2: The pet is mailed to all of your characters, so you don't have to decide which one gets it.

Not once did I have to enter details saying I lived outside the UK. I merged my WoW account with my existing Battle.Net account (set up the Battle.Net account with eu.battle.net when it first became available, but didn't merge), went through the Mountain Dew website, logged in, ignored the US only message and clicked the big Redeem button below it. Voila, pets on all chars (including my new dr00d).
Also added the Mobile Authenticator to my account at the same time, something I've been meaning to do but was hesitant due to the problems with Battle.net logins.

Forgot to mention!
I managed to redeem a case of the blue fuel, also, and that was sent to all my characters too.
Going to try creating characters on other factions/servers later to see how far this will stretch!

The pet is even mailed pre-mailed to new characters. I made 3 new alts the day i had my pet mailed to me, AFTER it got mailed. These new alts all had mail with the pet waiting for them on their first second of playtime.

i don't know why so many people have been changing their info to get this pet... you just need to change the login URL from US to wherever you are and you can get it?
I'm in EU, all my details say UK, and i got the pet AND some fuel.

I got it on 2 characters but not on my pally. I also go no fuel. Any ideas?

Confirmed NOT working anymore on EU servers. I went through the "Redeem" button, it said I would receive my battle bot anytime soon, but I got nothing.
Unless someone else from EU says that it still works, don't bother.

Well that sucks.... does anyone know if the people on EU servers who managed to get one before it was hotfixed still have it, or was it removed from them as well?

So big annoying issue with these things: it says that you can get the pet on all of your characters, but this isn't exactly true, at least in my experience and maybe I'm doing something wrong. The truth is you can get the pet on all of your characters, but only on the first day. The mail with the pet OR the fuel is apparently generated when you log in, so if you didn't log in to one of your alts on your first day redeeming redeeming then they're doomed to get piles of fuel with no pet. working as intended?

ok so is the pet permanent or just temp and does it come up as a surprise achievement? If my account isnt active in Aug can i still get the pet?
