I sympathize, I've gotten three green proto-drakes so far from mysterious eggs. Destroying a blue item because I can't even sell it to a vendor makes me twitch.

Interestingly, I was fishing next to someone in the Daleran Sewers, and I asked if they'd gotten the rat yet, and that got us into a conversation on vanity pets. I mentioned Mr Pinchy, and he went off and got him in his first pool. He whispered about it because he felt bad that he'd been so lucky when I'd been trying for ages. He offered to help me find pools to fish in, and with his help I got the item about my 6th pool that day. But I was lucky about the final random aspect of this....I got the pet itself on my first try
