Tuesday Morning Post: Kitty cat club edition
As a former player of a Feral Druid main and current player of a Resto/Feral Druid alt, I was looking forward to seeing the new Night Elf Cat Form graphics with bated breath for much of the week. Of course, having now seen them, I have to say that Tauren Cat Form definitely came out on top here. Of course, some people still have their complaints about that, but I think the Night Elf forms are certainly quite a bit sillier. Oh well, at least my hair will get me a set of the slightly cooler looking forms. But Druid fashion concerns weren't the only thing going on this week. While most servers are getting rolling restarts, others are getting some real downtime (check this post for details), and the authentication servers are taking a nap as well. That means you may just have some time to check out some more of our top stories from the past seven days below:

i definitely say the new tauren cat forms are a much better improvement than the new night elf forms, even the phoney ones.
and huge grats to that Cautious person for having the patience to get to 80 without dying.
also, that scammer is a douche.

While tauren cats got better, nelf kitties are still much cooler.

I mean no disrespect here, but if a lot of night elf druids are upset concerning the new cat forms, shouldn't you take a look at your actual toon for a second?
The cats are purple with silly lines and stuff on their faces. Yes, they look a bit clown-ish. But so do night elves!!! They have purple/green/chartreux hair with funny lines on their faces!!! It's like saying you're upset that the cat has big pointy ears or something. They certainly look a lot more night elf-ish. I do agree that all of them being some variation of purple is a bit ho-hum, though. Night elves have different kinds of hair colors. There should totally be a turquoise cat in there somewhere.

Grats to all hard-working players out there! I didn't actually notice that the first Val'anyr was on my server until a friend on Twitter pointed it out...crazy. :o

And Tauren cats have looked like goofy, cross eyed, dumbo cats for the oh last 4+ years.
Night elfs can put up with not as cool cats.

Sorry, I don't feel having to "put up" with the nelf catform is a bad thing. I'm quite excited about the new forms, and imo they're still far superior compared to the new tauren lion.
Give me my pink cat plz.

It's art. It's subjective. Blizz will never please everyone.
I for one think that the graphics upgrades for the NE cat is fantastic. It looks like I'll start with the white, then switch to the black, but will eventually cycle through all of them. The are is sleek, and the cats look like night elf cats, bands, bangles and all.
The Tauren cats are a nice upgrade over the old model, but I don't like em. Is why I rolled alliance in the first place. Horns? A nose ring? On a CAT? Ick. Besides, a cow turning into a cat is very strange to begin with.
Wow players, especially those that have the inclination to read and post on the official forums and here at Wow Insider are the squeaky wheels of the Wowverse. I'll bet most players will be pleased at the graphical upgrades that cats are getting, and won't be QQing over the things that they want but didn't get.

First, I want to express my appreciation at seeing "bated" spelled correctly.
Second, I think the tauren forms seem like such a big improvement because there was less room for improvement in the night elf form. Even though tauren is my favorite race, I thought the night elves had the better of the two old forms. Now, setting aside one's preferences regarding color, I think the two are roughly equal.
