I would like to highlight the point where the author says that casuals outnumber Hardcore and they would win if it were a democracy…newsflash casuals have already won that war. Every single developer is now coding for them, the represent the most dollars it is simple economics. The Raid end game is archaic and being shoved to the wayside, and developers are getting more comfortable with saying their game isn’t for the hardcore gamer. Last Gen-Con when cryptic was showing off Champions and Star Trek Online folks asked about the end game the answer was MMO’s don’t have a end our game is about the journey if someone rushes to the heist echelons of the game first that in itself is their reward. The new MMO’s are a never-ending adventure not a console game to be won.
