Actually you do go and do just that. Its called a price adjustment most major retailers offer these for sometimes up to 6 months after the product was purchased.

"Kind of how I feel about it, even though I have alts that will benefit from this change. 3 months worth of Quel'Danas dailies per character are not easily forgotten >.<
I could buy a motorcycle for each of my 80s if there was a refund (even though such a refund would completely destroy the already shaky Azerothian economy.) It's like buying a sports car for a shit-ton of money & seeing everyone driving one the next year, because all of the sudden they cost less than a Geo :p It stings, but if there's one thing non-pallies (-dks, -locks, -druids) know how to do, it's suck it up & run with it."
nice over exaggeration. i have yet to see a Ferrari F430 Spider F1 go for less than a Geo. that is unless it's completely totaled, and stripped down to the busted frame.
on the flip side.. think of how much money you could have saved if you never started playing wow. you could have bought a life with that change.

Actually yeah, people do... why do you think companies like Best Buy offer a price guarantee? It specifically states if the prices lowers in x time you are due compensation. They made that policy because enough people complained about the price dropping after purchasing else why bother?
Now this is something that's happened more than "a few months" for the majority of us I'd imagine, so demanding compensation this much longer is retarded. It's virtual gold... do your dailies and afford epic flying in ~ a months time. You're paying to play, so play.

Responding to Reuben:
Actually, some stores will refund the difference in price if it goes on sale or the price decreases.

yes lol but.... i DID get 100$ back when i bought the original (unsubsidized) iPhone o.0
Revanel Jun 10th 2009 9:22PM
That's awesome. But why can't they just drop that 5k price tag?
Rexton Jun 10th 2009 9:37PM
Hey, at least there's the faction discount now.
I'm interested in how this works out. How will the discount be given out? Based on how many exalted city reps you have?
QQinsider Jun 10th 2009 9:53PM
Because it would piss off too many people who spent a lot of time farming that 5k. That's why they're raising normal flying speed to 150% instead.
SarahTheGnome Jun 11th 2009 3:46AM
Since you buy the flying skill from HH now, I am guessing you will get a discount based on your HH rep, for alliance of course.
Viper007Bond Jun 11th 2009 5:27AM
Because 5k gold is nothing in WotLK. Do some dailies (Argent Tournament ones especially and sell the pet), use your professions (gathering ones mainly), etc.
BlackTiger Jun 11th 2009 6:41AM
"...Because 5k gold is nothing in WotLK..."
Nothing!?!? That's, bloody hell, A "THING"! Even in Wolk.
DanH Jun 11th 2009 9:26AM
"Because 5k gold is nothing in WotLK. Do some dailies (Argent Tournament ones especially and sell the pet), use your professions (gathering ones mainly), etc"
Your definition of "nothing" is clearly different to mine.
If you can bring in, let's say, 200G an hour doing dailies then getting 5000 gold is *twenty five hours* of your time you're never going to see again. And for what? An ability the entire function of which is to allow you to do things *more quickly*.
Terag Jun 10th 2009 9:23PM
Woah woah waoh...wtf? I'm not sure if i like that...but i think i do...but idk...but yes!
BigBep Jun 10th 2009 11:21PM
agreed 100% =P
Teah Jun 10th 2009 9:23PM
I'm so shocked. I always wished they'd move things down lower, especially flying, but I never dreamt they'd really do it. And FIVE GOLD total for a 60% riding/mount?!!
Zerounit Jun 10th 2009 9:25PM
Kinda makes Travel Form and Ghost Wolf a lot less effective
Qot Jun 10th 2009 9:28PM
Travel Form will still break polymorphs and both are pretty good "Oops, I meant to pull one, not all of them" situations.
Selacia Jun 10th 2009 9:29PM
I dunno, I still use Ghost Wolf at 80 all the time, especially when it's talented to be an insta-cast.
Anirtac Jun 10th 2009 10:51PM
Yep I always use ghost wolf at 80 too. Gets you out of tight situations :))
tonedeff Jun 10th 2009 11:43PM
When im in my pvp spec and its instant cast (i also stick tomy pvp spec for questing & dailys) I use ghost wolf all the time. Very effective even when just running form mob to mob!
