More Algalon firsts from around the world
The last couple of days have seen a few more 'firsts' around the world for Algalon, the supposed Destroyer of Raids. Premonition of the Sen'jin server scored the US first, roughly a week after Ensidia's world first. Their kill revealed two brand new drops from the boss, both of which you can see in the little gallery just below. Good work, guys.
In another part of the world, the infamous Chinese guild Stars (the one that moved to Taiwan servers to play Wrath of the Lich King) has downed Algalon as well. This is extremely impressive. Why? Well, Taiwan got their hands on patch 3.1 a full week after North American and European realms did. That means Stars killed Algalon in the same amount of time it took Ensidia to do it. If both regions received the patch on the same day, the two kills would have happened at very nearly the same time.
Congratulations to both guilds, and we look forward to watching the next raiding race when patch 3.2 rolls around!

inc "easy mode qq blizz" whining from people in greens and blues

you nonce, no-one would do algalon in greens and blues, not enen the audience you were trying, but failing to insult.

I wasn't saying people had beaten Algalon in greens and blues. I was referring to the crowd that cries out in agony that the game is "too easy" whenever a world first announcement goes off, whether or not they've done it.
In the words of Zaryhm- "Amazing. Now that Yogg-Saron has been killed, YOU have nothing left to do".
Way to go on the reading comprehension, you 'nonce'.

I think what Gnosh means is that people that wear nothing but greens and blues love to complain how easy Blizzard made the game... in short, it's just people that want to complain complaining. They love to complain, it defines their life from their proverbial basements.

I remember reading on the Ensidia website that the fight was bugged, and it took 2 weeks for Blizzard to get the bug out of the fight...

Also, Stars had the benefit of Ensidia's experience. Once a boss has been downed and the strats are out there, its MUCH easier to replicate.

What's the name of the addon that shows you what the stats on an item convert into?
Grats to them, by the way.

RatingBuster.
Wow.com writers, please link to this addon whenever you post a screenshot that shows it working.

You didn't give the Chinese guild enough credit. If it remember right, not only did they decamp to Taiwan because of lack of WOLTK in China but they also all re-rolled all their characters from scratch and burned through heroics and nax in time to get geared for Ulduar and to down Algalon only a week after Ensidia.
I'd say that's a pretty amazing accomplishment.

Indeed. They also very nearly beat Ensidia to downing Mimiron hard mode after over 500 wipes (!), more than double what Ensidia claimed to have taken to do the encounter the first time.
How about some interviews with members of some of these top guilds WoW.com? You have a whole column for the casual WoW player; give us a look at the other side of the spectrum.

QFT! I'm actually more impressed with Stars than Ensidia or Premonition.
They put a lot more effort, at least imo, into getting this kill with the whole rerolling and all that.
Don't get me wrong, Ensidia and Premonition did good as well, but I'm still more impressed with all the effort Stars put in.
@ Maximize (didn't wanna waste another spot)
I think it's wrong to assume that they would use Ensidias information to down a boss. Not everyone acts like fanboi's who camp on their doorstep to hear their latest news. I realize the US/EU PvE progression fued is always talked about here, but who's to say that any of the Taiwan servers even remotely care or even pay attention to it?
Going with your logic one could argue that all Ensidia did was watched the strats on the bosses they weren't world firsts for. I don't really see that likely, but your statement essentially would support that line of thinking.
They could very well have watched Ensidias video mind you, but trying to discredit their kill without proof just isn't right.

"I'd say that's a pretty amazing accomplishment."
I'd say they need to go outside for a few hours.

Kinroc, that addon is ratingbuster.

Do we? Really?

Yup!

Critical Mass on Stormrage downed him in 10-man this week! Grats to them!
Shadowmane Jun 11th 2009 2:30PM
Exodus of Ysondre-US also downed him on 10-man as well. These are the same guys who were behind the world first downing of General Vezax and US first downing of Freya Hard Mode.

Congrats Premonition you have done better than my guild. My guild hasn't even gotten through half of Ulduar 10 man.
