The Guild hosts a Worst Guild Candidate Ever video contest
The Guild (which, as we were told by Michele Boyd last week, just started putting together their third season last weekend) is having a video contest, with a little twist. They want you to make a one minute video of a potential guildie for The Guild that would obviously get rejected -- in other words, a worst guild candidate ever video contest. So maybe you could clearly be a loot hog, or not know anything about your character (but claim to know everything). Or whatever else you come up with -- it sounds like they want the entries to be as embarrassingly bad as possible. To enter, you'll just have to create a video, upload it to a sharing site like YouTube or Vimeo (make sure you save a high-quality original of it just in case), and then drop them an email with a link to the video.
Sounds like fun. If you win, you'll get featured on their website, and/or have a chance to get your video on their season 3 DVD release. They've also got legal rules over on their site (unfortunately, it's US-only, like so many other contests on the Internet), and have discussions about the contest going on their forums as well. Good luck to all who enter -- we can't wait to see the results!

How can this be US-only? It's not like the prices have any cash value or anything? The rules are pretty clear on the whole "You will not own your own work and we are the only ones that will benefit from it"-part in the legal schmegal.
Don't you feel all the cozy friendliness of the Guild flowing through your body as you read "on a non-exclusive basis for any and all purposes whatsoever without any payment to you whatsoever"?
Also... is it just me, or is there a missing "to" in ยง1?
"you agree not reveal or otherwise disclose", shouldn't that be "you agree not TO reveal or otherwise disclose"? Maybe I'm just tired.

This is US only because, first, there is a "chance" of winning the Season 3 DVD, which means that it is a "raffle" of some sort, in which rules vary by country (and state...I'm looking at you Rhode Island). Also, the Season 3 DVD does indeed have a cash value, as it is a tangible object that can be sold in a store.

Bit pointless them not doing it in the EU, but I dont know the legal implications if there are any...
Then again, i'm sure they'd include EU if it was a contest for guilds that get world firsts :P

Hey, does anyone know if the contest is limited to one entry per person? I didn't see anything about it in the test and if not...well, I've got like five different characters I want to try out.

I believe I would be an excellent candidate for this competition, as my submission would perfectly reflect my real-life view (i.e. I am already sick of hearing about "The Guild" every ten minutes).
