WoW Moviewatch: Alliance vs. Horde - Episode 1

We've seen WoW-based Mac commercial spoofs before, such as the epically famous Frost Shock. BroncoTV is now continuing the legacy with their own donation to the effort, Alliance vs. Horde - Episode 1. The series will be focused on the two player factions, and their ongoing argument about who is better and why.
This particular episode digs up the old chestnut about who has the best girlfriend and why. I admit, I had a brief chuckle when the dwarf claimed Onyxia as his girlfriend. I guess I can't blame him, as there was something a little fetching about her appearance in BLIND.
Ultimately, I thought the video was amusing, and I really look forward to more. I think the later episodes are going to get better, though, as the authors expand their development of the two main characters. As these figures "grow up" in the comedy series, I think the dialogue will get even better.

Pretty uninspired and cheap Alliance-bashing there. If this is going to be an ongoing series then there could be some interesting and humorous comparisons of alliance/horde stereotypes with digs both ways, then it might have something. A balanced approach with a modicum of intelligence would be quite entertaining. Still, I won't be holding my breath.
If they plan to show repeated conversatons of this:
- Horde player: "You suck as a person and therefore as a faction in many ways"
- Alliance player: "Yes, I suck as a person and therefore as a faction in all those ways"
Then as far as I'm concerned it can stay in the juvenile minds of its would-be creators and out of my internets.

Thing is though, its based on those Mac vs. PC commercials, which are suppose to be biased.

I dislike the "Alliance are all preteen virgins" stereotype as much as the next Alliance player, but that was hilarious. My favorite line was "She looks like a butterfly but she stings like a dragon shaped bee - with herpes." LOL!
Awesome stuff, can't wait for the next one.

Awesome! Makes me a little sad to play Alliance, as I suspect this video's claims are more true than false.

I find it hilarious and a bit ironice that all alliance players are branded as the virgins/losers/12-year old kids...et cetra while the horde have all this "extra time" to play the game AND make these videos and write blogs... oh and hang out with their girlfriends....

My point was most outside the game activity appears to be done by horde players, at least in my experience.

I find it irritating that it reinforces the stereotype that all 12-year-old kids are stupid.
And that losing one's virginity is apparently some rite of passage that boys HAVE to take in order to become men. As if the romantic value behind sex hasn't been trivialized enough already.

It is a universal truth that the more you feel the need to tell everyone how awesome you are, the less likely you are to actually be awesome. The Horde spends an awful lot of time talking about how awesome the Horde is. I'm just sayin'...
