Yogg-Saron and Flame Leviathan nerfed tonight
It looks like some pretty big nerfs to the Yogg-Saron fight tonight. Ulduar's big bad (well, one of two) will have a much easier first phase, as the Guardians of Yogg-Saron have ceased mind-controlling players, as well as becoming "more forgiving" in their spawn rate. Additionally, flash-frozen players that touch a cloud will no longer bring forth a Guardian.
Flame Leviathan's hard mode was hit as well. The amount of extra health he gets per tower up was reduced and the snare effect of Hodir's tower removed. Additionally, vehicles caught in a flash freeze will be freed with a single shot from a Demolisher or Siege Engine cannon. Players will also not go quite so high when ejected from Flamey following a stun, which should make them a bit easier to pick up.
Oh, and XT-002 Deconstructor won't make people into bombs quite so often (and his heart's health was reduced a touch on 25-man). Overall, it seems Yoggy will be significantly easier. My guild isn't there yet, though (next up for us is Mimiron) - people who have done the fight, how big of a deal will these changes be?

I run in a 10 man guild. We just downed Yogg'Saron last Monday. And moved on to FL + Towers and XT Hard mode this week.
YS Phase 1: We used a tactic which is everyone stacks on top of Sara - this means that nobody spawns additional adds and as long as the MC cleanse is fast enough that isn't a problem either. Then we just make sure that we killed an add - sucked up the explosion (any one with Fervor runs out of it). And wait for the healers to top up the raid before the next add explosion. So the phase 1 changes won't have a massive affect on us. Phase 2 is the only really difficult phase for us.
FL Towers: Just a matter of learning how to deal with the mechanics. Was not difficult before but I'm not going to argue with the changes.
XT: Once we got the heart down XT is actually a lot easier on Hard Mode than he is on normal mode, since you no longer have to worry about the adds (the ones that spawn from light bomb die within seconds). And there's never enough gravity or light bombs to make it an issue.
Overall the changes we're really needed but I'm not going to complain. Better loot is better loot. Bring on 3.2.

that should be weren't really needed*.

This is the smart thing to do those who actually are Hardcore instead of professing to be have already down him, (and if you haven't you know what class your in)....so Blizzard throws the nerf bat so the unwashed masses can see the content. It keeps them paying, and it keeps Blizzard on top.
If you post any QQ about the nerf you are a poser plain and simple, Blizzard gave you plenty of time to down him un-nerfed....it's time to face to fact that you are an average WoW player.

"it's time to face to fact that you are an average WoW player."
Dude, not only do I admit that, I've never claimed anything else. I guess the point is that some of us average WoW players like a challenge; others don't.

Making Ulduar puggable one nerf at a time!

More like "Making Ulduar 25 Hard Mode pugable many nerfs at a time".
What's absolutely hilarious is to see people STILL arguing that these nerfs are about letting everyone see content when 10 man is a joke and many of the nerfs are to lolhard mode.
Apparently, unless they nerf lolhard mode down to SFK levels people haven't seen all that content and it's all the fault of everyone's favorite whipping boy, those mean 'ol hardcore raiders (as if there's any 'hardcore' left in the game).

I can tell you that the phase one nerfs made a difference for us. We just started working on Yogg this week, and it tooks us a few hours to be making it consistently to phase 2, but control was poor. Last night we jumped to getting phase 2 -> 3 transition down. What would have been better than these nerfs would have been slight mechanic changes (more akin to the green beam change) and some bug fixes. For example, we are still getting screwed by people being auto-ejected from the brain and getting mind controlled at the end of induce madness anyway (even though they aren't in the brain). I think the reason we are seeing nerfs instead of fixes is that Blizz has its devs working on 3.2 full time and the B-team is in charge of "fixing" Ulduar at this point.
At least no one has died in Grip after the arm is dead on Kolo in a few weeks.

If anything they need to make some of these bosses harder. 25 flame leviathan is about 10x easier than 10 man, it's way harder 10 man since there's fewer people to target, fewer choppers, fewer people to interrupt or deal with extra stuff if you want towers up.
Same for mally, sarth with drakes, 25 is easier, when it should be harder.

My guild got yogg to 2% on wed night. Unfortuantly didnt get him down but a nerf? really? In my opinion yogg doesnt need a nerf people just need to not act stupid.

Instead of nerfing raid bosses - I would prefer they continue to nerf leveling - as I would love to get my alts to 80 and experience raiding with them. Just saying that instead of spending time nerfing new content maybe they could focus on going back and nerfing old content for leveling.

To all the whiners - if you're as good as you *think* you are then you should be beating these things long before they get nerfed. If you have, then what's your problem? That now more people can see the content? You got to see it first, you got the gear first, if that's not enough and the only way you can feel special is if that content is forever denied to the masses then go find another game, WoW isn't like that any more. This is how it's going to be from now on - Blizzard will adjust content difficulty until it's beatable by whatever % of the population they feel should be seeing it.

My group has been trying yogg for 2 weeks now and phase 1 has been a problem. This last week our 3 week trying him, Phase 1 was not a problem at all, and we downed yogg for the first time. I'd say the changes where major, and made the fight in phase 1 alot easier.
