Breakfast Topic: What's your favorite raid boss?
Here's a good question from the official forums: What's your favorite raid boss, and why? The original poster chose C'thun, from classic WoW's second-hardest raid, AQ40; Bornakk agrees. I haven't actually seen C'thun, but from what I hear it was both incredibly frustrating and incredibly awesome. Crygil picks Doomwalker, but he might be a little biased.
As for me, picking out of the fights I've done, I'm going to say Hodir. I don't remember classic raiding very clearly, and I only got through Karazhan and most of Zul'aman in BC. Ulduar is probably my favorite raid instance out of all the ones I've done, and the Hodir fight is really fun and demands a good amount of coordination from your group. What's your pick?

Has to be lady vash for me.

As a tank, it has to be Thaddius (or Feugen and Stalagg, to be more accurate.) Getting ping-ponged back and forth across the room is one of the most fun things ever. The first time I did it, I laughed through the entire rest of the encounter.

There were so many suggestions floating around, but this comment really nailed it. As a tank, this fight is the best out there for a first timer.
I've only ever healed in Wrath, but I'd say Maly is fun just because I really got to sweat when I did it. Good times.

100% accurate. There's nothing like being thrown from one end to the other, picking up a new boss, and smiling as you do it. I like Loatheb too, simply because of the insane TPS i put out on him.

I agree, Thaddius is a blast as a tank. The only irritating part of the encounter is the needless platform leap between the two fights which can lead to a wipe just because a couple people miss.

chess

I agree 100%. I wish they would make that a separate mini game that I could play over and over again.

@Manatank
I've totally gone back into Kara since Wrath just to play Chess again.

Yeap Chess but my second favorite would have to be Flame laviation.

Agreed, I love those two boss encounters.

C'Thun
ending up in his stomach was just too funny

I always liked shade, even if there was always someone who moved in the flame wreath.
All of the bosses in ZA were awesome, too.

this,
i loved the emote when someone is holding Atiesh
"Where did you get that?! Did HE send you??"
admittedly i never saw the emote in the game my self , i know no one who was in naxx that long to get it
i just loved the whole encounter, no aggro table, interupt rotations,
and sheeping the whole raid

Gotta be Baron Geddon. Blowing up the group was the best part of raiding.

Well Zul'aman was my favorite raid but Im not sure any boss there that would beat it. The feeling of the raid was good. I have to say Maexxna. The music is so amazing there I always turn the volume up. The feeling of the battle is just great overall.
Gamewise? I say flame leviathan. Its designed very well gamewise. You have gauntlet that serves as tutorial for the boss just like most games have, then you have the feeling of teamwork when you are on vent/ts. Noones just "doing their job" and just heal/tank/nuke and be silent until wipe, it makes people actually interact which Is amazing for one raid boss I think you can agree. Even if you have it on farm its still requires pretty interactivity between players.

There really is something about a boss who says "Surely you would not deny an old man a replenishing drink? No, no I thought not." when he sheeps the whole party. Oh you silly crazy ghost.

Mimiron. Loved the entire fight from the moment we stepped in there. Up until the moment we finally downed him.
The only fight in Ulduar now I really enjoy, except YS as well.

As a former warrior tank for my guild pre-bc, I always liked Ony and and Magmadar for the stance dance. Those fights included an element of class "skill", and not just anyone could do it.
As a holy priest I liked Veal and Nef from BWL. @ level 60, you NEVER got a chance to use Holy Nova in a raid outside of these fights.

Drakk'd be my vote. Raid chat went something like this:
"C**p, anyone know a decent hunter to kite him?"
"Nope"
"Nope"
"Some guy named SpRdeth says he can do it"
[collective sigh]
"Invite him. I bet fifty seconds."
Voting on how long the SpRdeth could kite him without dieing would proceed from there, with side bets. It was annoying but always somehow ended up being hilarious. I once took all comers at five to one the pugged hunter would die in under five seconds. That paid for my first ever epic ground mount when the hunter aggroed the boss by jumping around while we buffed.

Sartharion. I know he's easysauce, and with no drakes the DPS can throw a tissue at him and win, but he was the FIRST ever raid boss I ever helped to take down.
Plus...I just love his voice acting. "THIS PATHETIC SIEGE ENDS -NOW-!" is my favorite boss line.
