Christie Golden signing Saturday in Long Island
Warcraft book author Christie Golden (who, you'll probably remember, wrote Arthas, the book our guys loved so much) will be signing copies of that book at a bookstore called the Book Revue in Huntington, NY this Saturday at 7pm. In a quick interview with Newsday there, she also talks about both her background in fantasy and sci-fi (she remembers the days when sci-fi and fantasy were seen as silly diversions rather than premises for multi-million dollar movies and videogames, as do most of us older nerds, probably) and her experience with WoW. She says that having the chance to jump in and virtually visit the actual setting of her books is a real plus when doing research -- if she has a question about the layout of Stormwind, she can go over to that city and check it out herself. If you're in or near Long Island and are a Christie Golden fan or are looking for something Warcraft-y and fun to do on Saturday, there you go. She's got more information on her blog about the signing (looks like she'll be reading as well). If you do go, let us know how it went.

I live near the Book Revue and I remember the "WORLD OF WARCRAFT EVENT" sign when I passed by there earlier this week. Seemed very underwhelming next to Buzz Aldrin and some of the other awesome people they've had come there, but I'm sure it'll be a good time for those really into it. I will not be attending.

I pass by the book revue on my way to work in Cold Spring Harbor every day, PROTIP: get some pizza at little vincent's while you're there.
That place gets MAJOR authors and guests all the time, even Bill Clinton held a signing there in the last few years

I live in Huntington! Maybe I'll stop by...
Protip: Get food from House of India while you're there.

You mean the book that makes his entire motive seem more like love for a horse than anything else? Seriously half the f'ing book is about his love for the horse. The rest is WCIII cutscenes. I'll take a Knaak book over this crap anyday.
PROTIP: Reading a Knaak book just requires you to pretend like Ronnin isn't in any of the scenes. Just attribute his dialog to another character in the conversation.

Hahaha, happy to see some fellow Huntington-ers, but you guys really gotta just go to DiRaimo's Pizza, clear winner. Just epic win.

The author, not being not a Long Islander, is uninformed of a subtlety of living here. We say that we live ON Long Island, not IN Long Island. This derives from Long Island not being a town, ie, one would say "I live in Austin, Texas," whereas LI is a geographical region, just as one would say I live ON a lake or ON a beach, or on an island. So really, the headline should read, "Christie Golden signing Saturday ON Long Island." Consider yourself informed.

qoa +1 - Every single piece that wasn't about horse, is all about wc3 videos. " Worst Episode Ever" (c)
