So Amanda, I pointed this out on your "Insider Trading" Jewelcrafting post on May 22 and I used the same the example of Spellpower. You bascially took my comment and added a few things but the same premise. Informative, yes, new no. Maybe I deserve a little credit for this. Sorry for the wall of text but here is my comment and the link to the articlehttp://www.wow.com/2009/05/22/insider-trader-jewelcrafting-nerf-incoming/Hordecore May 22nd 2009 5:22PMThis is rediculous!!! LW's get best in slot liners better than enchants.Skinners get extra crit, ( Don't know about you but I have seen an increase in Mage skinners since Wrath), Smith's get 2 extra "prismatic" gem slots.Tailors get the best cloak enchants/liners. Alchemists get double the flask time.Inscriptionists get the best shoulder enchants.Enchanters get to add a small amount of a stat to their rings.Miners get Extra stamina.JC's get prismatic Gems.Engineers get an epic helm and 2 mounts, a gun and I am not sure if anything else.Herbalists get Lifbloom. If we look at all of these they all offer soemthing that is "best in slot" for PvE raiding except Engineering & Herbalism. Engineers get nice toys for PvP atleast but atleast herbalists can make a decent buck gathering for 2 professions.Sure the JC gems are better than normal reagular gems....it is no different than any other of these Professions when you sit down and think about it. Because they offer set bonuses which for the mast is like +4sp, +4int, +4 they are by no means OP. The all have a special little niche/perk for having that profession. Let's use Caster Stats for a compare. Because I can get 39 more SP out of 3 gems than a non JC can that makes it OP? Take the Enchanting they get +19sp to a ring. I got an extra 39 sp from my gems, they got an extra 38 sp to their rings. A Blacksmith got an additional 38 sp from the 2 extra sockets they get. I am not 100% sure the stats on the Incribed shoulders, or tailoring cloak enchants or fur linings but you get my point. I got a whopping 1....that is right 1 more SP from 3 gems that a bs got from 2 and an enchanter got from 2 enchants for them only. That doesn't look OP to me......Grass is always Greener on the other side. This is done from the amount of QQ heard all over about JC being op and a must have. The only reason I switched in BC was because my shaman was a tailor and was worthless for him and there was some decent JC only gem cuts and it was a new profession. This is definitely uncalled for and I think I pretty much proved it.
