Phat Loot Phriday: Fang of Oblivion

Name: Fang of Oblivion (Wowhead, Thottbot, WoWDB)
Type: Epic Unique One-hand Dagger
Damage/Speed: 271-407 / 1.80 (188.3 DPS)
Attributes:
- +47 Agility, +54 Stamina, and a Yellow Socket, which will probably let you add to crit, hit or haste, depending on what you need more of, with a +4 Agility socket bonus.
- +1869 Feral attack power, so you can do more damage in your new kitty form.
- Improves crit by 29, haste by 24, and attack power by 80. So yes, this is a damage dagger all the way. Rogues get the edge (get it? "Edge"?), but anyone who can wield daggers and likes stabbing with them will benefit. Hunters, you could use it, but there's better stuff out there for you -- even dual wielding with something else, there are polearms that will give more agility and more stats you want.
Getting Rid of It: You would sell something made from gaseous balls of orbital fire? Oh, you would? Well in that case, a vendor will give you 23g 84s 13c for it (which seems cheap to us, but hey, you're the one selling it). Or it'll disenchant into multiple galaxies of space energy, all conveniently contained in an Abyss Crystal.

Got it not long ago.. Berserking messes up the look considerably. =[

So basically Phat Loot Phriday means "I copypaste a random tooltip and bloat it up with random uninformed crap"?
You don't even bother checking the wowhead comments to see if it drops from a hardmode, you don't bother checking how many guilds have actually completed IC hardmode, you don't bother checking rogue/shammy forums to see if this is a particularly wanted item, you don't bother checking if a feral druid would ever use it (they wouldn't).
Why bother with the post at all? We can all go to wowhead and Browse Items -> Weapons -> Daggers and organize by item level.

Schramm you're seriously a moron. Go back to not playing WoW and please stop writing about shit that you don't have anything to do with. Complete waste here.
Duncan Jun 12th 2009 10:45PM
It seems the only reason I read Phat Loot Phriday is to see how many errors Shramm makes each week.

lol @ the terrible rogue in that picture.

ouch. tough crowd tonight.

Good lord, are these people being forced to read the articles? IS there someone twisting their arms? Are they being threatened with waterboarding?
No?
Then why the hate? Move on, if you don't like it.

Its not so much mindless nerd rage as it is that... well, a lot of Schramm's articles are consistently full of, usually very obvious, mistakes and misinformation, particularly "Phat Loot Phriday." He's been doing this for ages, and I think the only reason most people get so pissy about it is that he usually ignores comments and never makes any attempt to corrects his mistakes, and just goes on making more misinformed articles.
On a lighter note, lol @ "space-energy" tag.

Can you give me any reason to like it?
What does this article give me that the Wowhead page for the item doesn't?
If the "Senior Editor" of WoW.com likes page views and ad revenue, maybe he can exert a little bit more effort than "oh hey this page lists Feral Attack Power, let me link to that thing about new cat forms we had earlier this week".
A suggestion - if you can't come up with a better reason to post a Phat Loot Phriday than "today is Friday", then don't.

Makes me want to play Kingdom of Loathing again

All you people who can't stand these articles can just piss off. As has been said before, no one makes you read them. And @ unigolyn: You're a neanderthal. The post you responded to said MOVE ON if you don't like it, not "troll harder if you don't like it, asking for reasons why you should like it." A suggestion - if you can't come up with something nice to say, don't say anything at all. Sorry to treat you like a 5 year old, but that's what you're acting like.
To all the other people nerdraging - yes, nerdraging Reinard - the purpose of this article is to give people a chance to see upper echelon gear that they may not have seen before, not to lead an in-depth discussion if the item's min-maxing potential. Not everyone who plays the game or views this website patrols the Wowhead itemlists 24-7 or has Algalon on farm, despite what recent polls may have said. Some people, believe it or not, are casual WoWers or just haven't made it to the hardest Iron Council kill yet. :O Imagine that.
In conclusion: Troll harder, lurk moar, piss off, go back to your theorycrafting threads on EJ, etc. Thank you and goodnight.
PS - My god, it's full of stars...
