WoW Moviewatch: Warcraft Meets Star Trek
At first, I wasn't entirely positive how I felt about Warcraft Meets Star Trek. The author, who goes by muffstermunch, doesn't have a lot of credits to his name yet, and does say this is his first full-length music video. So, while I was definitely interested in the idea, I wasn't sure what to think.
As I fired up the YouTube stream, though, my beloved Draenei fiancee saw it over my shoulder. Recognizing the song from old Dr. Demento shows, she started laughing at the dancing gnomes and immediately yelled, "Oh my god, that's awesome!" So, if nothing else, that experience instantly won me over.
Warcraft Meets Star Trek is one of those machinima pieces that is just plain fun. The sheer ridiculousness of the WoW models chosen to represent the original cast is brilliant. The idea to use of a brooding Night Elf as Spock was particularly inspired, in my opinion. While the ending credits could probably be shorter for most people's tastes, I think the author has created an overall laugh-worthy, fun music video.
The author definitely won me over with his freshman effort, and I truly hope to see more comedic bits from him.

It's so bad and stupid that it actually becomes funny and good..

ROFL
Love the visuals for the klingons on the starboard bow, and it's a little spooky just how appropriate the male human dance is for that song.

I wasn't sure what to expect (particularly with an author called Muffster Munch), but I felt pleasantly rewarded =)
This Trekkie was HIGHLY amused. It's been a while since I've added to my YouTube favorites. Thank you =P

My favorite was the undead as "Bones" McCoy.

Definitely a nice touch. I found myself laughing and thinking "There was no better model."
All the crew was cast pretty well. Though Kirk as a gnome was just hilarious.

Did you watch the last 4 seconds of the video. This video may not be distributed without consent from it's creator.
Yeng Jun 12th 2009 2:08PM
So? Technically its not being distributed. The author put it on YouTube, this is a link to YouTube.
elfennau Jun 13th 2009 9:24AM
And? When you put something up on YouTube and allow linking/embedding (which IS something that can be controlled) then this WILL happen, and isn't really redistributing it. That would be ripping the vid from YouTube, uploading it somewhere else, and making it publicly viewable.

"We come in peace!
SHOOT TO KILL! SHOOT TO KILL SHOOT TO KILL!!"

The video is so-so. The winning component of this production is the song and that existed before this machinima.

As someone who listened to the original song on the radio (yes dating myself here), I smiled at this as much for the memories as for the video itself.
Thanks for the reminder. :)

The song actually comes from a series called Stone Trek, an amalgamation of Star Trek & The Flintstones.

If you mean the song 'Startrekking' it was made in 1986/1987 by The FIrm, a UK group. It got to number one (yes, yes it did lol)

That movie was probably the most chaotic move I've ever seen...... so much that it actually made sense to me! O.O
it was funny I'll give him that XD

Boring as usual.
