World of WarCrafts: Jewelry and bleach shirts, take two

Fans of Sugarrat's WoW Bleach Shirt didn't waste a moment after last week's feature to get working on their own creations. We begin this week's World of WarCrafts with another version of the bleach shirt from reader Andy (Zorren of Auchindoun-EU). "I made basically negative versions compared to hers, as the bleach isn't the outline – it's the fill," he wrote. "I based them on spray-paint stencils but had fun bleaching the designs ... and my pants ... and the tablecloth ..."
... and apparently, a hip flask for his friend Criterous of Auchindoun-EU, too. "Similar method to Sugarrat's, except I cut the design from sticker paper and spray painted over it," he noted. It appears to have played a major part in a happy birthday celebration, from the look of things -- check out the photo of a happy Criterous at the very end of this article.
Another bleach shirt, plus a handmade racial necklace (and Criterous' happy day), after the break.
A final bleach shirt comes from Becky (Lynnora from <Happy Dragon Tea Palace> on Scarshield Legion-EU). "I love this idea!" she commented on last week's post. "If I can figure out how to draw the Horde insignia, I'm going to make this too. Nice & creative!!" It obviously didn't take her long to figure out her methodology, because she was back with pictures not four hours later: "Here is my version; just made it. :) Actually, I used the plastic adhesive you can put on your windows to prevent people looking in to apply on the shirt. It held pretty good."
We think it's looking pretty good, too!
Before we wrap up this week, we have a little more eye candy to feed your creative spirit. "The last time WoW Insider featured jewelry, I felt scooped by the guy's gorgeous work and almost decided not to share my Draenei pendant once it was completed," writes Cynthia (Rosoe of <Betrayal> on Ysera-US). "But now that I'm done with it, I think it's a completely different style from previously featured jewelry, so I figured I'd share after all."It's a completely handmade (no molds) pendant of the Draenei racial shield. The pendant is about 1.25" in diameter, made of sterling silver, brass and four 3mm pink tourmalines; the cord is faux leather. I've been making jewelry for about a year, although this pendant was the first time I've made a pendant, set stones or worked in mixed metals -- so it was something of a learning experience. :) I work primarily in sterling silver and have a little home studio on a workbench out on my porch."
Looks like that bench may deserve an upgrade soon, if her work continues to look this sweet.
We're looking for your best workDo you create something that's inspired by the World of Warcraft? We want to hear about it!

Now you're going to tell us that the girls all play Blood Elves, right?
Idiot.

Cool. I may try this Alliance one on a black shirt.
mibluvr13 Jun 15th 2009 11:26AM
The kid in the Alliance shirt is exactly what I've found Alliance actually looks like.
offday Jun 15th 2009 11:43AM
Someone has to say this.
You're an idiot.
DoctorOnline Jun 15th 2009 12:39PM
OH MY GOD. You're totally right! I looked in the mirror this morning after logging onto my Draenei and was suddenly transformed from a 20-something female into a teenage boy!
Help!

Silly Alliance, not knowing the difference between a majority and an all inclusive statement.

"[W]hat you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

@mibluvr13: zing!
@DoctorOnline: lmao
@ havitech: great Billy Madison quote- too bad it in no way applies to the original comment or any of the following replies. Your attempt at impressing us has failed.

Oh wicked! My pic in it :)
Actually that Alliance shirt looks really good!! How come I didn't think of making it the opposite way and have the bleach fill the pattern instead of spray it over. That's a good idea, Alliance Shirt Boy!
Look what you have caused, Sugarrat, bleach sold out in stores because of Warcraft players ;)
Lisa, I love your blogs, keep up the good work! I'm a fan.

Yeah, that Alliance logo can be complicated. Horde is much easier, both look cool though. I think I prefer the way yours came out better though, the faded look is sweet.
What I really want now though is that flask :D
Sæthra Jun 15th 2009 1:27PM
The shirt looks great! But the body under it is what makes it look so damned good. I'd LOVE to see more women wearing shirts like that =)
brucimus Jun 16th 2009 1:26AM
I really like the Alliance one. Some people do not wear black and thats perfect for me.
Andy Jun 15th 2009 11:56AM
im no alliance "kid" im 23! lol
but yeah, im looking sexy/mouth breather right there haha!
also that pic of britt/criterous was her birthday / moving to the UK (from canada) party
Lausia Jun 15th 2009 12:24PM
Can't wait to try this out. My kids and I plan to make a few of these in various colors over their summer break. I'm thinking ball caps next. :D
Lausia Jun 15th 2009 12:27PM
P.S. Anyone know where to get some patterns for the various factions/ races etc.? Something like that would be nice to showcase here. Thanks in advance!
DoctorOnline Jun 15th 2009 12:44PM
The Alliance one turned out really great. I figure I should probably do this particular warcraft in white clothing or I'm going to end up with a similar problem. Maybe I can negate my clumsiness and bleach out the darkroom chemical stains on my white clothes. >.>
Only complaint I have is that the pictures are a little crappy. Just get a friend/sibling/mom/passerby to hold your camera. Gives us a much better idea of all the work you put into your craft. :3

@DoctorOnline: The comment I was replying to was deleted between the time I clicked reply and the time I clicked post. I didn't intend to call YOU an idiot.
zorren Jun 15th 2009 2:03PM
yeah i should have got someone to take the pics, but with most "oooh i know what i could do" moments (baring in mind i made these shirts over 6 months ago) its usualy 3-4am haha
the hip flask was more planned as we knew britt/crit's birthday was incoming.
also for extra points the flask was filled with loverly Jägermeister ^_^

Sorry for the confusion in your comments timeline, AyaJulia -- that comment was not only idiotic but managed to be fairly offensive, too. We deleted it.
