Chest heirlooms with 10% XP bonus coming in Patch 3.2
Yay for new heirlooms! Earlier this afternoon, Blizz bestowed upon us the information that in patch 3.2, there would be some heirlooms available for purchase by those who had gained their Crusader titles. There was some hoping in the comments section for an XP boosting belt and/or chest, and your prayers have been answered.
Yes, Zarhym has revealed that you will be able to get chest piece heirlooms in patch 3.2, and that they will give a 10% XP boost that does stack with the boost from the shoulders. So that means, recruit a friend trickery aside, the well-appointed alt can get 10% from shoulders, 10% from chest, and another 100% from rest (at times), and they all stack.
This brings the list of heirloom-able slots to: main/off/two-handed weapons, shields, ranged weapon, trinkets, shoulders, and chest. And there might be more to come in patch 3.2 that we haven't heard about yet. My alts are excited already.
Patch 3.2 will bring about a new 5, 10, and 25 man instance to WoW, and usher in a new 40-man battleground called the Isle of Conquest. WoW.com will have you covered every step of the way, from extensive PTR coverage through the official live release. Check out WoW.com's Guide to Patch 3.2 for all the latest!

I'm not one to complain.. but aren't they heading in the direction like they're gonna make a big mistake and f**k up the game?

How? By making alts easier to level? By making heirloom items do this, they make the people with 80s lives easier when it comes to levelling alts and for new players they can use RAF to hit 60 quickly so they can catch up with the deathknights. I like the ideas they're presenting and I think they should keep them up ^_^
Valris Jun 17th 2009 8:12AM
Unless you're from a country that can't use RAF. If only I knew that before I filled my country information.

Sweet baby Jesus, xp bonuses FTW!

80 Battlegrounds are about to meet another rogue, hehe.

"This brings the list of heirloom-able slots to: main/off/two-handed weapons, shields, ranged weapon, trinkets, shoulders, and chest."
Shields? Do tell.

Coming soon: Heirloom armor sets? I'd love to see those set bonuses.

Not shields because not all classes can weild.
in general it should be one bonus from your weapon(s).

Very, very nice. Blizzard must know as well as we do: the journey is not quite as novel the third, fourth or seventh time around. Challenge is welcome, a drudge less so. And heirlooms require work on endgame characters, so there's activity across the account.

I'm a bit worried that within a couple of years you'll be able to kill a boar in Durotar, a zhevra in the Barrens, a buzzard in Desolace, and a raptor in Un'goro, then rush off to Outland.
I guess I experienced WoW at its heyday so I shouldn't really care what happens to leveling, but I really don't think alts are all that time-consuming to level. Certainly any change beyond this is major overkill.
Amak Jun 17th 2009 3:09AM
And anyone who can buy these have experienced it too. Often more than once.

So these items will be available to only those who have earned the crusader title?
Alexran Jun 16th 2009 9:04PM
Anyone know if Blizz is planning on taking the Crusader title out of the game anytime soon?
papermoonshine Jun 16th 2009 9:13PM
No, they aren't. They said they wanted to do something to make getting the Crusader title more attractive so people actually get it instead of milking those extra dailies. I applaud them for finding a great way to get people to just give in and get the title.
Draenors Jun 16th 2009 9:15PM
I haven't heard anything about that, no, and they would likely have mentioned it if they were planning to. And I don't think it would make sense to do it. The Argent Tournament is still relative new. Also, getting the Crusader-title, I believe, is a relatively casual thing that everyone can do, so they don't have to the same reason to take it away like they did with the Glory of the Raider-drakes (so that only the hardcore would get them).
Anyway, even though I had that 3 level 80s were enough, and that leveling up another alt probably wouldn't be very enjoyable, I should maybe consider leveling one in the summer-vacation. The news of additional heirbloom-items combined with the news of cheaper mounts, flying mount at level 60 and with faster speed are certainly making it sound appealing.
McDuff Jun 16th 2009 9:16PM
Let us use those heirloom items cross-server, then I'll be excited.
Eternauta Jun 16th 2009 9:25PM
This may be a little offtopic:
How do I earn the "Crusader" title?
I want those heirlooms yeah!
mibluvr13 Jun 16th 2009 9:53PM
Complete either Exalted Argent Champion of the Horde or Exalted Argent Champion of the Alliance. That requires exalted reputation with the Argent Crusade and all five of your faction's reputations, as well as champion of all these factions.

I'm gunna go out on a limb here and say there isn't enough burst in arena (with retribution paladins being the exception to the rule).
The reason I'm saying this is because to obtain a high amount of burst certain DPS classes have to give up a high amount of survival. That rogue that beat you down in 2.2 secs did so because he's probably got about 300 resil on him total and could likewise be beat down in 2.2 secs. So yes DPS can burst, but at the high cost of survivability, meaning if they screw up at all they're going to be the ones bursted down.
Then we have healers...their heals are good enough as is, and they never find themselves struggling to heal their targets. They don't socket +SP or +Int or anything like that, they're basically free to socket pure resil and stamina and call it a day.
In short...heals are too good in arenas atm. DPS must itemize completely towards DPS, while healers are free to itemize more defensively. I see this as a problem if GC ever wants double dps teams to be as viable as DPS/heals comps. If you want more strategic matches make socketing resil and wearing pvp gear more worthwhile for DPS classes the way it is for healers.

Shit...downrank this...meant it for another post...
