Chest heirlooms with 10% XP bonus coming in Patch 3.2
Yay for new heirlooms! Earlier this afternoon, Blizz bestowed upon us the information that in patch 3.2, there would be some heirlooms available for purchase by those who had gained their Crusader titles. There was some hoping in the comments section for an XP boosting belt and/or chest, and your prayers have been answered.
Yes, Zarhym has revealed that you will be able to get chest piece heirlooms in patch 3.2, and that they will give a 10% XP boost that does stack with the boost from the shoulders. So that means, recruit a friend trickery aside, the well-appointed alt can get 10% from shoulders, 10% from chest, and another 100% from rest (at times), and they all stack.
This brings the list of heirloom-able slots to: main/off/two-handed weapons, shields, ranged weapon, trinkets, shoulders, and chest. And there might be more to come in patch 3.2 that we haven't heard about yet. My alts are excited already.
Patch 3.2 will bring about a new 5, 10, and 25 man instance to WoW, and usher in a new 40-man battleground called the Isle of Conquest. WoW.com will have you covered every step of the way, from extensive PTR coverage through the official live release. Check out WoW.com's Guide to Patch 3.2 for all the latest!

So what currency should we be stocking up on to buy these? And will they behave the same way as the shoulders as far as armor downgrading is concerned?
ie. if I buy a plate chest for my pally, will it immediately change to mail until my pally is 40?

Yes.

I, for one, am disappointed. Heirloom chest items? Fail. Of course, mainly only because they are chest items. Helms would have been cool, in that they are hard to get at early levels. Also, more possibilities for visually cool helms. Chest armors, while often kind of neat looking, just don't have the visual oomph of shoulders, weapons, and helms.

So do we need to get the Crusader title before the patch in order to buy these heirloom items or can we achieve the title after and buy them?

Blizzard seems to be overcomplicated it. They should really consider the /level system from DAoC. It's very simple, you cap an 80 level character, you get 1 /level credit. Go to any other toon and type /level, the toon is raised to a certain level automatically, let's say level 55 for argument's sake due to how Death Knights are created.
You get a 55 toon off the bat, it's not geared, but this encourages you to buy greens on your main and mail them over to your new toon, start leveling and enjoy the game, none of this equipment juggling stuff.

Does anyone know what you will buy the Heirloom Chest items with? Heriosim badges again or Crusader badges and how much? Let me know, I can't seem to find the answer.
Thanks.
