More cakes, plates, and tats in our galleries

Yes, that's Arthas admiring his own title on a license plate -- Kallis of Silver Hand sent us this shot, presumably before his head was chopped off by Frostmourne. Trust us, if you think celebrities are angry when the paparazzi come by, you don't want to see what the Lich King does.
This picture and quite a few others are all new in our WoW-related license plate gallery, and we've gotten a few other new pictures of cakes and tattoos to share with you as well. Browse through all of the pictures from readers in the galleries below, and if you've gotten a new WoW-related license plate, someone's baked you a WoW-related cake, or you've picked up some new WoW-themed ink, feel free to send us a picture so we can share it here on the site.

Awesome. Can I say more?
Guido666 Jun 17th 2009 5:10PM
I want to see the rest of the armor!
Agerath Jun 16th 2009 8:48AM
Good to see there are no members of the alliance stupid enough to get a faction tattoo >_<
Good god..
max Jun 16th 2009 8:56AM
I was thinking the EXACT same thing.
AngelfishTitan Jun 16th 2009 10:30AM
I was about to reply with: "But there is that one of the Sprite Darter", but then realized this was probably a Horde player who just really wanted that pet when they couldn't have one.
Alchemistmerlin Jun 16th 2009 10:40AM
Nah, just no members of the alliance old enough to get a tattoo.
Agerath Jun 16th 2009 10:56AM
@AlchemistMerlin: In terms of retorts, that one is right up there with 'well, I might have gonorrhea, but at least I don't have syphilis!'
Dart Jun 16th 2009 2:13PM
Yeah, faction pride is clearly overrated.
FOR THE HORDE!
I'm pretty sure the people with these tattoos were already considering one, and you may aswell have a tattoo that describes you instead of generic skull #312.

I'm generally against stupid tattoos that you will regret when you hit 40, but on some certain level I can see WoW tattoos. WoW has been out for over 4 years, as long as most peoples college experience (ignoring those who move on for their Masters/PhD). Some people get tattoos to memorialize life-experiences, I have one memorializing college and all the experiences from that time.
Some people are REALLY into the game, and feel the same, so there is no problem really there.
WoW has been strangely influential to lots of people. People made friends through it, met their future SOs, wasted huge amounts of time in the fictional universe.
Really it is no dumber than the moron I once met with a Nike logo on her arm, or the legions of people with band names tattooed on them. Actually, it is probably more sensible.
I personally wouldn't mind getting a small horde tattoo (or the troll faction crest) someplace discreet. Its pretty low on my list of priorities though.

I like most of the tattoos. One of the license plates you can't read even in hi res mode. And I'm kinda "meh" about the cakes.
artifex Jun 16th 2009 12:47PM
At least one of the tattoos looked like an open wound when I first glanced at it.
10 years from now, 20... are you really going to want what is essentially a commercial trademark permanently on your body?
Naix Jun 16th 2009 9:18AM
I hate to say it but multiple tattoos are not a sign of mental stability. Whats funny is the the higher on a persons body the tattoos have been placed the more unstable they are. In recent years tattoos have went from cool to trashy. With the boom of soon to be soccer moms getting tattoos on their lower backs it just become uncool to have one.
Who knows your ink may come back in style one day, but by then it will have faded into a blob.
Catiya of Feathermoon Jun 16th 2009 9:28AM
I don't know what you're talking about. No matter how many you have or how you choose to live your life, I think tattoos will always be a beautiful form of self-expression.
Naix Jun 16th 2009 10:06AM
Tattoos have become the ultimate form of conformism thanks to MTV and the like. Everyone wants to be different the same way.
It really is sad now.
ayalafatalis Jun 16th 2009 11:37AM
I dont get tattoos to be cool. I didnt get tattoos to impress anyone. I get them because they MEAN something to me. If I wanted to be cool, I'd be doing other things than getting stuff put on my skin.
People like you are just as bad as the sheep who actually do get these to be cool.
Naix Jun 16th 2009 11:47AM
@ayalafatalis
Then you are the exception here.

"With the boom of soon to be soccer moms getting tattoos on their lower backs it just become uncool to have one."
Soccer moms with tramp stamps?
wowinsider.5.omestes Jun 16th 2009 2:04PM
Wow...
I don't think tattoos are trashy OR cool anymore. Who really cares if soccer moms get them? Soccer moms also wear SHOES, thus wearing shoes is trashy. I think the fact that literally everyone I know has at least one (except my father who is against them, and sounds a bit like you on the subject) is a sign that they are no big deal anymore.
It really is a topic I can't seen anyone getting all that worked up about anymore.
Also, a tattoo is a large commitment, I do find people who get bad tattoos rather... not unstable, but lacking in forsight. This does not reflect on everyone with a tattoo though. I have several, and you'd probably NEVER know upon meeting me. I have them to symbolize moments of my life, my losses and gains. They are not there for you.
This makes sense, since it my body, and I can do as I please with it.
Your opinion is just that, and opinion. One that is now disagreed with by a vast majority of the population.
Kylenne Jun 16th 2009 2:08PM
I love how every article about tattoos on here attracts holier-than-thou pearl clutchers making sweeping judgements about people who get tattoos. The person you so generously condescended to up there is far from the exception to the rule. People who get tattoos do so for a variety of reasons, and there is a very large segment of the inked population for whom "coolness" has little to no relevance. We are well aware of the fact that tattoos have not been truly countercultural in American society for quite some time now. You are not adding anything new or relevant to the discussion, trust.
I'm sure there are people who get Horde tattoos just because they look cool ('cause, really, they do look cool). But if you actually took a moment to talk to people with Horde tattoos, you'd realize that for a lot of them, it's less about proclaiming one's fanboy tendencies and more about taking pride in what the Horde represents to them. Strength, honor, surviving against all odds when the world is out to destroy you, looking out for your tribe (however you choose to define it), etc. These are ideals that transcend a video game, and will probably still mean something to the bearer long after WoW and Warcraft and general have been forgotten. That's a damn good reason to get a tattoo, IMO.
I don't have a Horde tattoo myself, even though I do plan on getting a different video game-related tattoo (the Blood Sin from Vagrant Story), and that was chosen for similar reasons. But if I did get a WoW-related tattoo, it would probably be the Icon of Blood and/or the Icon of Torment. Both of those symbols mean a lot to me, not just because the Sin'dorei and the Forsaken are my favorite races, but because of what they represent in terms of lore.
As for regret, it happens for some people, but I think even tattoos you grow to regret can have a purpose. I hold the body-as-canvas view, and in that way, tattoos are a way to tell the story of a person's life. Even that soccer mom's cliched butterfly on the lower back may mean something, even if it's that at that point in her life she finally felt free enough to do something she was always told was "wild". Or that she was a dumb follower of fads. Mine are a mark of my spiritual path, and even if that path changes, it's still a part of my life's journey.
tl;dr: you are ignorant and need to stop making sweeping judgments about tattoos and the people who get them. To me, that's a far greater sign of mental instability than people choosing to put things on their skin. Everyone is different.

@wowinsider.5.omestes
There is a BIG difference between shoes and tattoos. Shoes are a necessity where tattoos are not. I spent a lot of time in an art college town where most of the students have lots of tattoos. So I have spent a lot of time with people with a lot of tattoos. It is really not a big deal that they have them. Its the personality type that I noticed more from people that have them.
Lacking foresight is a sign of being unstable. You can't say that you don't know a tattoo is forever and a big deal when going in.
If your tattoos are there for you great, but I can tell you you lumping yourself into a group upon peoples first impression. Rocking a skull tattoo with snakes and blood in plain sight is not going to land you any management positions.
My statements are facts. The vast majority of grown people agree with these statements.
