New details on the Argent Tournament update in Patch 3.2
Patch 3.2 is currently in development, and not yet on the PTRs. We've been told that it will focus on expanding the Argent Tournament that was introduced in patch 3.1, and we've also learned that it will feature new Druid form art and a new battleground, Isle of Conquest.
Today Blizzard posted a preview of some of the Argent Tournament updates, and it looks pretty cool. There are going to be two new Tourney-related quest hubs in Icecrown: a Cult of the Damned camp overlooking the Tourney, and a Vrykul outpost on an island to the north. The Black Knight will also be returning; I guess it was only a flesh wound after all.
There are also going to be new dailies and new rewards for players exalted with the Silver Covenant/Sunreavers, as appropriate. Silver Covenant and Sunreaver tabards, their ground and flying mounts, and a Shimmering Wyrmling pet are all mentioned.
Furthermore, those who have earned the Crusader title will get some more dailies, and some exciting rewards, including new heirlooms (!), a banner, a tabard that ports you to the tourney, a squire with a mount, and a Paladin-only charger mount.
New heirlooms, you say? Nice, but I wish they weren't at the end of five tedious rep grinds. Oh well, time to get to work, I suppose.
Update: Blizz have edited the page to say the new squire will cost 150 Champion Seals to upgrade, will be summonable for 3 minutes every 8 hours, and will perform one of thee services: mail, bank, or vendor.
Patch 3.2 will bring about a new 5, 10, and 25 man instance to WoW, and usher in a new 40-man battleground called the Isle of Conquest. WoW.com will have you covered every step of the way, from extensive PTR coverage through the official live release. @ Draelan
Yes I've got your point but it's a *very very very specific* situation, come on :-). 150 seals for that option... still seem a bit too much, imho.

Why do Paladins get class only mounts and no one else other then locks (who wont have any class only thing here). I play a warrior who is a crusader rank with the argent Tourney. Why cant he ride the Charger as well? I really dont see why they dont give other classes (class mounts) to. That or let us all have a shot at the Charger mounts.

Because the argent crusade is a bunch of paladins. Lore, it makes sense. I'm a warrior too but i think its a great addition for pallies. Though I do agree, there needs to be a) more class mounts, and b) a serious revamp of the old class mounts...Compare the DK mount movement and appearance vs the dreadsteed and you'll see my point.
I just hope the new dailies they are adding give more champion seals since, as it stands, only 5 a day is going to take forever to get all the stuff.
Keleron Jun 16th 2009 9:28PM
As a person playing a game I think the pally only mount sucks, but as person that role plays a character, it does make sense since the AT are a bunch of Pallies as was already mentioned, so its great for them.
@Mortiseraphim, I think the warlocks dreadsteed is still the best looking mount in the game. The DK mount is ok, but isn't nearly as cool.
Jeff Jun 17th 2009 9:11PM
Really, its simple.
The mount looks just like the paladin mount except recolored... because it is. If they let anyone get it, it'd be retarded.
So they wont just let it go to waste, so they're throwing paladins a bone.
I wont even be getting it unless its borderline free... gray? I like WoW because its colorful.

Some of these additions sound good, others seem meh. I'll wait for the release before passing judgment, of course. I wouldn't mind the new dailies.
Sindragosa Jun 16th 2009 4:44PM
But....but... we already have a class exclusive epic mount. Why don't you give us an exclusive flying mount instead? In fact give one to each class ( except druids and DKs of course).
In fact I think that the old level 60 quests for the Dreadsteed and Charger should award class specific flying mounts now that the Dreadsteed ad Charger arew available at level 40.
Really don't understand why we Palladins need another class-specific mount. Although I appreciate it of course.

"In fact I think that the old level 60 quests for the Dreadsteed and Charger should award class specific flying mounts now that the Dreadsteed ad Charger arew available at level 40."
Dear god that might be the most brilliant idea I've seen in months! I love it, it fits with the new mount changes too! Make the Charger/Dreadsteed baseline, do a few tweaks to quest text and models and such in the old charger/dreadsteed chain, then give Paladins and Warriors flying mounts. Pegasus and a winged demon horse!
Elry Jun 17th 2009 10:50AM
@Sind and Rogue
Who's to say you're not both right? The article just says a new "charger" for paladins from the AT right? What if it really is a Pegasus Charger!?!?
Blizzard, I have two workds for you... Do it!

HOT DAM!!!! I just got the motivation I need to finish off my last 2 1/2 grinds to Champion. There wasn't a single thing that I read about that DOESN'T excite me.
I mean, come on!!! THE RETURN OF THE BLACK KNIGHT!!! (I hope he's missing an arm! =P)
mortiseraphim Jun 16th 2009 4:55PM
...or both his legs.
RogueJedi86 Jun 16th 2009 6:39PM
I hope he isn't using the generic Heigan Wizard model that is shown on the Argent Tournie page by his paragraph that we've seen all over Northrend and Naxx.
Sindrow Jun 16th 2009 4:44PM
Tooo fast!! I still need to buy all my 100-mark mounts. I will buy one tonight, but that still leaves 400 marks to go. Now I have to add all this stuff to the list?! Tooo fast!!
Fung Jun 16th 2009 4:48PM
i'll get farming some hardened whineinite for my gnomishq qq amplifier right away
or i would, if my goggles still saved me from the rogues while i tried.
Oops Jun 16th 2009 4:50PM
Heirlooms!
If they aren't +10% exp belts or gloves or whatever I will be sorely dissapointed. This is the one most exciting thing about this update for me. Next on the list would be the Upgraded Squire followed by the Argent Tabard. Unfortunately I think I'm going to have to get the tabard first just to save time on those dailies.
As far as the paladin mount thing goes, I'm okay with it. The paladin charger is supposed to be something that makes a paladin unique, but when every flavor-of-the-month pally reroll (and there have been a lot) at 60 (soon to be 40) has the epic charger... it doesn't feel quite so epic anymore. Maybe this will bring some of that back.
Spiraea Jun 16th 2009 4:50PM
GaH! A new paladin-only Argent Crusade mount?! But.. But.. I want to work on leveling my gnome mage.. Guess it's back to my BE pally and Crusader daily grinding. I've GOT to have that mount
Luthielle Jun 16th 2009 4:56PM
My pally heart just skipped a beat! okay, okay, fine, I'll start doing argent tournament dailies again ^^;
Caz Jun 16th 2009 4:56PM
Maybe I missed it, but I am wondering if the items sold by the Silver Covenant and Sunreaver Quartermasters will be purchased with easy-to-earn gold - or Champion's Seals?
Croe Jun 16th 2009 5:45PM
I've been holding off on getting the Crusader title as I'd lose around 27 gold per day with the dailies. Will we still need to make a choice... money v vendor?
BTW, faction rep is very easy to get with out AT. Just do the old world quests. In fact, go for the Loremaster achievement and you'll get both done.
Upgraded squire is certainly something to look forwards to. With the tundra mount, you'll pretty much have everything you ever need on the go.
RogueJedi86 Jun 16th 2009 6:44PM
How did you lose money? The dailies all give gold, except the one quest to donate 10 gold to the Argent Crusade(and you make that up in spades with other nearby dailies) Where are you losing the other 27 gold at?
