Video of Christie Golden's Long Island reading
I wasn't anywhere near Huntington, NY on Saturday, but our friend Medievaldragon from BlizzPlanet was, and he did stop by the Christie Golden reading at the Book Revue bookstore. He even brought videos back with him, and so if you're a Golden fan (she is a New York Times-bestselling author, after all) and want to see her reading from Arthas, there you go.Apparently the reading was a pretty full house, too, and you can see from the video that there were all kinds of people there. Golden also says early in the video that Arthas is Blizzard's first big bestseller, and she repeats what we've heard before: that Blizzard loves having her write for them and she loves coming up with stories from their settings. The only big bit of news for fans from the reading is that while Blizzard is producing three different Warcraft books (of which Arthas is the first), they won't be a trilogy at all, just stand-alone stories. Big thanks to Medievaldragon once again for stopping by the event and grabbing video for those of us who couldn't go.

A Question that I have for a long time now: Is 'Arthas' going to be published as a pocket book, too? That is, not with hard but with soft cover? In my opinion hardcover is something for science books. I don't like hardcover for fiction and would pass for this book otherwise.

"Arthas" wasn't really a good book and I was rather disappointed.
Anyone can take Warcraft III and copy half the game into a book. It was hurried and bland. I want my $15 back kthanks.

You didn't really listen to what she was saying did you? She had to use the Warcraft 3 dialog.

I hadn't heard about her having to use the ingame dialogue, but to me that wasn't the real issue. What annoyed me was her insistence on carefully describing pre- and post-battle thoughts and dialogue but writing barely a word about the battles themselves (Sylvanas POV during the Sunwell battle being the exception). Though this leaves room for Warcraft 3 players to fill that in with their own battle experiences, what about those who never played WC3 and don't really like RTSs to begin with?

I wasn't really listen also, but just can't imagine why Arthas book - with so rich characters and so detailed story - was written as some fanfiction - u can cut down "Invincible drama" and just take a look at WC3 cinematics. Mrs Golden is a talented writer and got some very nice books - but this one is epic fail.
