I agree with you that there is a different mentality. I guess I'm saying you don't really learn any skills in the first 90% of the game that you wouldn't learn very quickly in the last 10%. I wouldn't say to transfer at 80, I'd say to transfer around 74 or so. That's plenty of time to learn the mentality, and then if there IS world PVP, you might actually have a chance to develop some skills as your opponents are less likely to be griefers.

And there are always battlegrounds along the way while leveling. Those helped prepare me for the switch to PVP realms just fine.
