Patch 3.2: The day we find out who stands in Yogg clouds
Like me and my guild, you may have found yourself wiping on Yogg-Saron phase 1 lately because there are people who just can't seem not to stand in clouds. We've been basically begging for a Failbot for this particular phase because, let's face it, when we have no way of finding out who's clipping or standing in clouds, it's impossible to berate them for it over Vent. And the general yell of "STOP STANDING IN CLOUDS" is grating for everyone who's not doing it.
Thankfully, Blizzard has heard our pleas. In the patch notes for Patch 3.2, a small note under the Ulduar section informed us that the clouds will be "more vocal" to players who stand in them.
Then again, by the time Patch 3.2 comes out, we might not even be running Ulduar as much, and people will have learned not to step in clouds ... well, probably not the latter. But still. Thanks for this, Blizz. It'll help separate the wheat from the chaff. And guildies from the raid group.
Patch 3.2 will bring about a new 5, 10, and 25 man instance to WoW, and usher in a new 40-man battleground called the Isle of Conquest. WoW.com will have you covered every step of the way, from extensive PTR coverage through the official live release. Check out WoW.com's Guide to Patch 3.2 for all the latest!

Excellent news, pity it took this long, would have been most useful in the teething stage for most guilds attempting Yoggy.

Like my guild and I*
Michael Sacco Jun 18th 2009 6:25PM
Nope. Then if you removed "my guild" it'd say "Like I, you may have..."

The great plains of English grammar extend far beyond what we learned in elementary school, my friend.
Learnin'. Get you some.

@Michael Sacco
Would it not just then be "Like myself, you may have..."?
I'll get my coat...

I think you're actually looking for "my guild and me". If I remember correctly (which I probably don't), it's supposed to work so that if you took out either part of the subject, it would still work (i.e. "Like my guild, you may have..." and "Like me, you may have..."), but the speaker always comes second.

There is a really easy way to tell if you should use "my guild and I" vs. "my guild and me" (it should be "my guild and me" for respect purposes, because you should place the other party first, but "me and my guild" is still appropriate).
Anyway, the time to use "my guild and I" would be when it is the subject of the sentance, i.e. "My guild and I went to Ulduar" vs. "You went to Ulduar, like my guild and me". The simple way to tell if you should be using "my guild and me" is that you can move it around in the sentence, i.e. "You went to Ulduar, like my guild and me" vs. "Like my guild and me, you went to Ulduar."
"My guild and I" cannot usually be moved in the sentence (though either "my guild" or "I" can be removed, and still make sense), for instance "My guild and I went to Ulduar" cannot be reordered to be "Went to Ulduar my guild and I" (unless you are using some sort of Yoda-speak, but then again, Yoda-speak is still usually grammatically correct).

I think my raid leader would be excited beyond belief if he would get the option to have the game automatically kick any player who touches the clouds.
It would probably result in a lot of canceled raids, though...

Nah, our guild won't make it to Yoggy in 25man in quite a while just yet, and while we're making to there in 10man, it's because that group actually know the meaning of the phrase "Stay Out of the F*cking Fire" I tend to use in 25man a lot :)

A wise sage once said.
"Do not stand in shit that kills you."
We are getting to the point of three strikes and you are out of the raid group. It's such a terrible thing to see people running around in t8 and t7 gear that still can't play their toons or even understand fight mechanics.
With the change coming to badge drops let those noobs farm heroic 5mans. Keep all of the lazy douches out of raids. Help control the population!
