Patch 3.2 brings about Ravasaur mounts, baby dinosaurs, Northrend orphans and more
Great news for collectors of pets and mounts in the Patch 3.2 notes! Not only will the long-desired Ravasaur mount finally be available -- for Horde players only, mind you -- but dinosaur fanatics will be pleased to discover that they can find Raptor Hatchlings from rare and elite raptors throughout the world. For those unwilling to farm, you can also buy Obsidian Raptor Hatchlings from Breanni in Dalaran!
But that's not all. Besides those two, Blizzard says that there are six other new unannounced non-combat pets available, not including Argent Tournament rewards.
But even that's not all! Northrend Children's Week will start with the new patch, which means that we're likely to see the Gorloc and Wolvar orphans we've known about since Wrath launched.
All that's on top of the new paladin mounts from the Argent Tournament, the Sunreaver and Silver Covenant mounts, and the new as-yet-unnamed Argent Tournament pet. Nice patch for you pet and mount collectors, eh?
Patch 3.2 will bring about a new 5, 10, and 25 man instance to WoW, and usher in a new 40-man battleground called the Isle of Conquest. WoW.com will have you covered every step of the way, from extensive PTR coverage through the official live release. Check out WoW.com's Guide to Patch 3.2 for all the latest!

Also, Children's week starting over again will make getting that drake that much easier!
Darkharmony Jun 18th 2009 3:39PM
Ok am I really reading this right? We're gonna have a double dose of childrens week this year?
Zarfay Jun 18th 2009 6:20PM
@Darkharmony
I really hope so.
It's the only holiday I missed out on due to real life time constraints.
If they don't then I'll have to wait until next year for my drake *sigh*

@Zarfay
Well in that case I hope we have a 2nd Love is in the Air holiday, as thats the one I missed! xD
Volaro Jun 18th 2009 3:26PM
Raptor babies! Yay
Krunkay Jun 18th 2009 3:29PM
What's the big deal about the Ravasaur mounts anyhow? Isn't it pretty much the same as the Raptor Mounts?
Gnosh Jun 18th 2009 3:32PM
They were planned from the very beginning as the horde version of the Frostsaber alliance can get, but it's been delayed.
For four years.
...Until now!
Lorsty Jun 18th 2009 3:33PM
Why yes, it's similar to the normal mounts but it's also the Horde equivalent to the Wintersaber mounts. That's why many people are excited about it.
Alchemistmerlin Jun 18th 2009 3:29PM
"for Horde players only,"
Woot.
Robert M Jun 18th 2009 3:35PM
I died a little inside when I saw that. I have always thought the raptor mounts were far and away the best in the game.
Grats to the hordies getting a new mount though!

Does this mean there'll be a new Children's Week specially just for Northrend (at least for this year) or that during the *next* Children's Week (next year), Northrend will be part of it?
AtomB Jun 18th 2009 3:32PM
I'm reading it as for future children's week
Cabcru Jun 18th 2009 3:43PM
Yeah, that's how I took it but given how the last world event was actually this year's Children's Week, it seems like remarkably lousy timing to have not put a rush of additions that people are now going to have to wait a year to see. Oh well.

What's been announced by Blizzard is that Children's Week will be coming to Northrend on the Patch Test Realm when it opens. The article author here is assuming this means it will be coming with Patch 3.2 in general, but I'm skeptical. I suspect they're just testing the changes on the test realm early. These changes will go in with patch 3.2, but you won't *see* these changes in the "real world" until Children's Week next year.
That's speculation, but that's my read of it...
barrettjacobsen Jun 18th 2009 3:53PM
This would also imply that we'd care about Northrend a year from now, too, which would hint that there'd be no expansion content by that date.
elfennau Jun 18th 2009 4:27PM
Why would there be an expansion by then? They've not gotten an expansion out within a year of the last so far, why start now?
kabshiel Jun 18th 2009 5:14PM
I just can't imagine them patching in new content now that won't be usable for another year. I'm betting that we're getting another Children's Week this year.
impurezero Jun 18th 2009 3:33PM
All this news is freaking me out in a good way. I'm so excited right now that I'm seriously considering taking a Xanax to calm down. Don't worry...I've got a prescription. ;)

I think the Ravasaur mount is being introduced in competition for the Wintersaber mount.
As for the pets... interesting news.
Now, any new highlights to Midsummer this year?
