Does this mean there'll be a new Children's Week specially just for Northrend (at least for this year) or that during the *next* Children's Week (next year), Northrend will be part of it?

I'm reading it as for future children's week

Yeah, that's how I took it but given how the last world event was actually this year's Children's Week, it seems like remarkably lousy timing to have not put a rush of additions that people are now going to have to wait a year to see. Oh well.

What's been announced by Blizzard is that Children's Week will be coming to Northrend on the Patch Test Realm when it opens. The article author here is assuming this means it will be coming with Patch 3.2 in general, but I'm skeptical. I suspect they're just testing the changes on the test realm early. These changes will go in with patch 3.2, but you won't *see* these changes in the "real world" until Children's Week next year.
That's speculation, but that's my read of it...

This would also imply that we'd care about Northrend a year from now, too, which would hint that there'd be no expansion content by that date.

Why would there be an expansion by then? They've not gotten an expansion out within a year of the last so far, why start now?

I just can't imagine them patching in new content now that won't be usable for another year. I'm betting that we're getting another Children's Week this year.
