As someone who plays both a healer and a hunter, macros that tell me to heal something irritate me to no end (be it pvp, self made, etc). The tank gets healed before Fluffy. You get healed before Fluffy. Shouting at me in an emote will not get your pet healed. However, if I'm on top of healing, I'll happily heal your pet... just don't emote at me. ^_^

Agreed. An emote to heal your pet (especially a noob /yell like that) will more likely cause a healer to purposely NOT heal your pet (and probably ignore you as well).

I agree, that is terrible idea and will land you on most healers /ignore list. Well, at least on mine. I mean, do you want me to make a macro
/y Shoot, shoot, shoot
and spam that at you? Do you honestly think healers in a raid have nothing better to do than listen to you yelling? Don't you think we actually spend all of our time watching everyone's health bars?
Hunter.

Agreed. If a hunter yells/emotes something about healing his pet, I'm putting him on ignore.

As an active raiding hunter, I have to say that I'll get my head chopped off if I tell the healers that they aren't healing my pet enough. I'm not going to say that its my responsibility and not theirs- yes my mend pet helps but my job is DPS and there's is heals.
But real players come first. AND pets should show up on healbot/vuhdo/whatever. If my pet needs heals, my healer knows it and the worst thing I could do is to tell them they aren't doing their job.
Also- 3/3 avoidance is a must for raiding. If your pet has this and still manages to die, and you use heart of the phoenix and he dies again, sometimes he just aint meant to live.

I named my pet after the GM (Who also happen to be the MT) He gets a lot of healing ^^
But seriously I never had any issue with my pet dying due to healer ignoring him. When I was a BM I could keep my pet alive by myself and now, as a Survival hunter I mainly use my pet (wolf) for buff and when things get to hard for him I just have him sit next to me and I still get the buff.
If a healer takes the time to heal him that really makes me happy but I so don't want him to get heal instead of a key player.
PS: Don't forget to thank your healers after a raid. Don't take them for granted ^^
