Two Bosses Enter: Chrono-Lord Epoch vs. Volkhan

It's the day that time stood still: Chrono-Lord Epoch (The Culling of Stratholme) versus Volkhan (the Halls of Lightning). Who'll stop who (/snicker) in this week's five-man Wrath boss deathmatch?
Here's the setup:
- Assume that the Chrono-Lord and Volkhan share similar levels, health pools and a comparative overall damage output (including Volkhan's golems).
- Prince Arthas Menethil is not a part of this encounter.
- This match takes place in neutral territory (although we'll allow Volkhan an anvil to create his golems).
- Don't get caught up in game mechanics and what actual players might do in each encounter.
- Focus on the three S's: style, story and scale.
Chrono-Lord EpochTick tock, tick tock... Not quick enough! Let's get this over with.
Chrono-Lord Epoch, the third boss in The Culling of Stratholme, is sent by the leader of the Infinite Dragonflight to unravel time by altering key events -- in this case, events in Old Stratholme. He disrupts enemies in battle by slowing and stopping time.

VolkhanIs it you who have destroyed my children? You... shall... pay!
Volkhan, a Fire Giant in the Halls of Lightning, resides in the Iron Crucible and forges molten creatures. The Sons of Hodir consider him a threat to their existence and send recruits (players) to destroy him in the quest Diametrically Opposed. During battle, Volkhan creates Molten Golems at the forge which he then Shatters for immense damage, once they have been "frozen" down to no health.

The smackdown
As usual, you should assume that the foes share similar levels, health pools and a comparative overall damage output. They fight on neutral territory. We will not be allowing Prince Arthas Menethil into this deathmatch.

The danger of Volkhan is that he does so much AoE damage, which can kill a healer. Epoch has no healer to worry about.
On the other hand, Epoch's debuffs are much stronger on a party than they are on Volkhan, simply because they're AoE. However, the Time Warp would make life difficult for Volkhan, and by using abilities such as Time Warp and Time Stop, I think Epoch could avoid enough damage from Shatter to kill Volkhan. Volkhan is going to be crap damage most of the time due to Time Warp. So I vote for Epoch.

Epoch all the way, his time manipulation is enough to keep Volkhan distracted enough to be brought down by the rest of Epoch's attacks.

Epoch stops time stabs Volkahn and wins lol

Epoch can alter time, therefore, he could go back in time and make it so that Volkhan never existed.

This.

In all seriousness, Epoch would probably crank out more DPS and could freeze time when he needed a break.
As a joke, Volkhan would die because he rushed too much during the bronze drake run.

Epoch, both in abilities and story.
Dude can alter time...

Epoch slows time down and attacks all of the golems, making them brittle. Volkhan shatters them and does a large amount of damage.

When the adds are about to explode Epoch stops time and moves away, thereby a good chunk of the damage Volkhan dishes out will do nothing. Epoch has to many tricks up his sleeves while Volkhan relies to heavily on his dim-witted golems. Epoch wins.

Epoch Hunter in a walk. You can't beat time travel.

Honestly, Chrono-Lord Epoch should be able to destroy pretty much any boss in the game. He can stop time, for Pete's sake! All Volkhan does is make little robots and break them.

Epoch, hands down.

Although it's pretty obvious at this point that Chrono-Lord Epoch is going to win, I'm going to make the case for Volkhan. In this, I'm presuming that neither has read any strategy on the other and that each is going about it on wits alone.
At the beginning of the fight, the two run into melee range and start beating each other down. Volkhan takes an early advantage, but Epoch quickly hits him with a Curse of Exertion or a Time Warp and takes the upper hand. Sensing trouble, Volkhan runs to his anvil and makes some golems, still under attack. The golems and Volkhan make a strong effort, but the Chrono-Lord is still too powerful. He makes a second set and a third, and soon is once again even with Epoch.
Freezing time, Epoch quickly dispatches each of these golems and turns back to Volkhan, whom makes another set and attacks again. Though the Chrono-Lord has once again regained the upper hand, he does not want to give Volkhan a chance to get back into the fight. So he freezes time again and dispatches of the golems, laughing the whole time about how funny Volkhan looks with one foot in the air. And as time resumes, Volkhan's foot comes back down shattering all of the golems around Epoch, whom in his arrogance had not noticed the kamikaze golem strategy. Epoch is down...and Volkhan advances.
As an aside, I know that one of the prevailing arguments is that Epoch can go back in time and make sure that Volkhan never existed, but I don't think he's smart enough to use it properly. If he were, then he would have evacuated Stratholme or taken out Arthas' lineage or something like...at least something smarter than attacking Arthas when he did.
