I'm a totally casual player but have been stupidly lucky; I got the polar bear after a week or two, the awesome green proto-drake on my third egg, and the blue proto-drake from skadi on a need roll of 99!! Oh, and I didn't even know about the giant sewer rat until it jumped into my bag during the fishing daily...
