I couldn’t agree more Rawk, I think you have hit the nail on the head in every post you’ve made here. I only got into endgame raiding at around patch 2.4 so I was very late into the end game content, and by the time I’d gotten through Kara a few times and started on SSC and the like, WotLK dropped and we were all shipped off in pretty boats to Northrend. Now, there are a few things that even I noticed at the time that in my opinion would make trying to have a “pure” level 60 experience at this stage in the game impossible. One example would be the economy. When I was geared for doing SSC I would also join Sunwell trash farming groups who would walk through the front door repeatedly clearing the first group of mobs and picking up the Sun Motes to auction off for the hardcore raiders at 1k each. (wow!) I would also farm the herbs and create flasks that they could use as well as they would also fetch top dollar. This was just my own contribution, then there were the enchanters, the skinners and leatherworkers, the people farming primals and mining the correct metals and everyone else doing their part. The whole auction house was geared around the top level being 70. Effectively, you have a whole economy supporting the end game raiders that you just could not find for people raiding seriously at level 60 now.Perhaps this is why some want a pure 1.1 server? Although I just cant understand for the life of me why you would because from everything I’ve heard the old school raids in the old school format were just terrible. And I can even see even the huge improvement from TBC to WotLK raids so I can just imagine how frustrating they would have been in Vanilla. And that’s another thing, frustrating is not the same as hard.. People QQ that raids now aren’t hard. I call that bluff, try one shotting Ulduar 25 even with well geared players and on vent, virtually impossible. But it’s still not “frustrating” because it’s designed better, with the idea of having fun in mind. You must be crazy to think it was fun to run a raid for 6 months straight and not receive one epic EVER because the “warrior only” pants kept dropping, or you had 8 other people of your class in the raid and you were last in line to receive your piece. That’s just crap.As far as twinking goes I have to say I’m with you all the way on that one too Rawk. As soon as someone figures out the absolute best in slot for every slot and enchant for a level 19 rogue (someone has probably already figured this out), it will be posted on a twinking site, everyone will grind to get the items, and it will be a game of pure luck on the 19, no XP BG’s as to who procs a crit first. However, I can foresee one totally awesome situation for those of a Twinking nature, although it’s kind of a Kamikaze because it will only last one night or so. Heres the plan: Get your toon to 19, turn of XP immediately, grind for all of the best in slot gear and chants. Turn XP back on, join que for “Noob” BG. Pour yourself a Jack Daniel’s on the rocks, crank up “We Won’t Get Fooled Again” by The Who, and spend one night of pure bliss completely face rolling every poor sod that dares to stumble across your path of pure destruction before you (very quickly I’d imagine) Ding 20. You can then repeat this process at 29 and 39 to get the most out of your toons love of having an unfair advantage, after all, that’s why God created Twinking!*The young’uns can enjoy this plan too - just replace Jack Daniels with Lemon Squash and The Who with whatever Mylie Cyrus is singing this week ;)
