I've been killing Sarth for months and, oddly I still enjoy it. Sans the last half an hour which normally involves bickering and the following question: 'What's a raid roll?' repeated
ad infinitum. However each time I enter the
Chamber of Aspects, I find my eyes drawn to the other still-sealed portals and wonder when they will open. It's clear the Dragonflight portion of
Wrath lore is still incomplete and I live in hope these new raids might be tied into
patch 3.3 or even the new expansion.
So tell me readers, when do you think Blizzard will start opening the other Sanctums? What kind of raids would you like to see for each flight? Do you think it might tie into the whole
Infinite Dragonflight questline or be something to do with the Lich King? What are your thoughts, constant readers?

First failure?
Though I certainly have no prediction, it does seem to be unlikely that any of those portals would be opened in 3.2. There has been no indication that any instances other than the Argent Colisseum would be launched.
As for the reason for opening another portal, the Infinite Dragonflight would seem more likely than Arthas' involvement with the dragonflights at all. However, Blizz can, and will do whatever they want to in terms of reason. Perhaps Arthas has devised some plan to turn the dragons into servants of the scourge? I suppose re-animating frost wyrms just isn't enough for him.

One of those portals seems remarkebly green and tree-ish,
maybe a portal to the emerald dream?
WoWie Zowie Jun 20th 2009 8:22AM
oo good observation! sounds logical
Isendre Jun 20th 2009 8:30AM
The green dragonflight is tied heavily to the Emerald Dream, so that is more than likely the Green's chamber.
If the next expansion is the Emerald Dream, we could probably see that one open. Though I doubt it will lead to Ysera.
OIK2 Jun 20th 2009 11:51AM
Maybe the Nightmare has corrupted the chamber of the green aspect and we will have to clear the blight.

Patch 3.3 seems to be the logical answer. We haven't heard what they're doing for that patch have we? :)
Oh a related note, why are we calling Sarth anyway? I thought the temple was a haven for dragons. Seems like it's not too friendly to black dragons, ha.

its gunna be icecrown...
i can see the blue chamber coming up then as well, i dont think it will be a raid, i just think there will be an even when tho new leader gets chosen
Telak Jun 20th 2009 8:52AM
unless they want to count the new BG as a raid they still owe us one new undeclared raid. My money is that it will be. . .
*Drum Roll*
Gun'Drak!
Yes, Yes; We've gone to Gundrak and killed their High priest, But that's not where the lore stops. The Ice Trolls were united by Frost King Malakk, not Rhino-enthusiast Gal'darah. It was under Malakk's Brutal leadership that the Ice trolls were able to hold off the Scourge and fair better against them than the humans were able to.
Yeah, I know many of us are tired of Troll instances but the fact of the matter is Trolls are Crazy important. Aside from the Tauren and Night elves most races have tons of raids devoted to them. It's just they aren't often the main Mobs. Ulduar/uldaman Are full of annoying little dwarfs and gnomes(And the vaguely human Vrykul). BC was all about the Draenei and the Blood elves, Orcs Had an Hell-fire Citadel, And the Undead and Humans Rule Wrath(I've got a theory about how all this Undead/Human tension is going to come to a head). Odd are The druid Races are going to have more than enough lore to satisfy them in Emerald dream.
Trolls however, Ruled the entire world. No other race can say that. They've been fighting the big bads for the longest period of time so it makes sense that they've got the most bad JuJu locked up in their temples. While there may be a few more Troll specific instances than for other races, it seems like there are more than there are because of the sheer number of trolls in each one. And Trolls are integral to lore so that justifies there being "So many damn Troll Instances"
Malakk is next. There is a lore gap that needs him Killed. There is an empty Village in Southern Zul'drak that the Devs probably have a plan for, and Zandalar needs to get a bigger build up for the Role it's going to play in The Maelstrom
Deathgodryuk Jun 20th 2009 9:55AM
@Telak
um... they already plan to deliver a new raid next patch, Crusader's Coliseum.
Julie Jun 20th 2009 1:31PM
Icecrown already? Wow, that's faster than I thought :)
Well this will be the end my friends. They said Sindragosa is in 2.3, so maybe she gets her own chamber. I am really worried what will happen when Arthas is dead though. There is not a lot to keep us going unless they make player housing or something. (and it better not be waterworld)
Drahliana Jun 20th 2009 8:23AM
At present there really isn't much in lore reasons to go. Quite frankly I don't even know why we're admitted into the Obsidian Sanctum, unless it's by mechanations of members of the Black Flight (Nalice comes to mind) who fear being displaced by the chromatic hybrids, or looking to simply to quash Sarthion's schemes in order to advance whatever foul schemes they might be dreaming up.
As to the Blue, they're obviously all marshaled up in either the ley activities in the Shrine or supporting Malygos in Coldarra.
We don't have any particular in game reason to start slaughtering the other three flights yet.
fourwinds113 Jun 20th 2009 3:17PM
My understanding about Obsidian Sanctum is just that we know Sartharion is up to some evil, nasty stuff in there with those eggs, so we're just trying to put down the potentially very bad problem before it actually becomes one.
Isendre Jun 20th 2009 8:25AM
I'm really curious what they're going to do for the blue dragonflight. We've already killed their aspect, that's a bit hard to top.
Unless they want us to kill the next aspect, too. Poor blues.
Telak Jun 20th 2009 8:29AM
Odds are we aren't going to see anything here until the other Flights start acting up. With 3.3 We'll probably see some continuation in the Blue dragonflight story(Specifically who is gonna take over). We won't see Green until Emerald Dream comes out or is about to.
Actually, I think We're gonna end up taking all the flights down. with the possible exception of Ruby. Deathwing is still alive, Bronze may have a mutiny on their hands, Ysera has likely gone madder than Malygos did, And Blue is in an uproar.
Chamber of aspects will be around for a few more expansions yet. We'll probably see a portal to it in Maelstrom. After-all, they did say the chamber can be anywhere they need it to be.
Tyras Jun 20th 2009 9:40AM
That's what I'm curious to find out of, when will Deathwing make his appearance? So much lore on him, yet we never see him. He appeared a little in TBC at the Netherwing camp with the female Black Dragon coming down and mentioning "The Master" but that's about it for hits of his appearance. Hopefully we'll get something from that badass insane guy. Hmmm, odd that, Deathwing was driven mad to kill all mortals, which drove Malygos mad and Deathwing tries to destroy the Blue Dragonflight, which makes Malygos go crazy and hide in Coldarra and also wanted all mortals dead. Sooooo... does this mean that all the aspects will go mad and THEN we get to slay them?
andy Jun 20th 2009 8:28AM
I can see the the Green/ bronze chambers coming up in a much later expansion, the emerald dream and whenever we finish off the Infinite Dragonflight. im surprised we haven't seen the blue chamber in this expansion but we will probably see it when the new leader of the blue flight gets chosen. i have no idea how we will see the red chamber unless it gets attacked, by someone other then us...
The Hammer Jun 20th 2009 8:34AM
I think it'll probably largely be forgotten about until Blizzard are desperate to use it. Like the Caverns of Time. No raid for that in this expansion pack? Really? Pfah.
Telak Jun 20th 2009 8:39AM
We'll see plenty more of the Caverns in due time. I Think once they start phasing old-world content(and if my speculations are correct that will be heavily done next expansion) they'll increase the scope of the Caverns of time. Only problem now is that there really isn't any lore that is relevant to our current storyline that we haven't exploited yet. Next CoS raid, What with the Maelstrom being the likely expansion, will probably be the Fall of Azshara or the first encounter on Azeroth with the Burning legion
