Hey! Link! You have seventy-two hours left until the moon comes down and destroys Termina. Actually, this picture is from something I hate only slightly less than Majora's Mask -- a saronite node stuck in the air. We've had a ton of variations on the floating-minerals theme submitted, but Nakhama of <Armistice> on Azshara manages to capture the perfect pose of excitement turning to despair.
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! I'm interested in this floating mineral node Glitch?
What causes it, just sloppy placement? I'd love to see better screens too.

It's happened since classic. At least with northrend/outland nodes you can get on your flying mount and land atop it to mine it. Even more annoying, and happened to me t'other day on my alt, is when they spawn inside a wall in a cave. I was one mining point away from being able to mine silver, there was two nodes in the cave; a silver node and a tin node, the tin node would ding me the point to be able to mine the silver but of course the tin was inside the wall and unclickable. I spend a good 5 minutes desperately clicking at the wall wishing it wasn't there :

This particular node seems to be glitched often - I was actually surprised to see this screenshot, because I have one of the same node almost exactly like it (and I'm a Troll Hunter.)

I have to admit, when I first saw the screenshot I thought the guy had some awesome 2H mace from ulduar that was basically a huge chunk of saronite on a stick..... Yes I am one of those ignorant people who haven't been to ulduar yet. I was somewhat disappointed when I realised it was just a floating saronite node :(

Majora's Mask is my favorite game ever and a truly inspired piece of work, equivalent to anything Mozart, Da Vinci or the Beatles ever created

Yeah, how can you hate it? It was the only game that's story didn't center around saving princess Zelda and killing Ganon. Plus you got to turn into a badass Goron and smash shit, then swim in the ocean like a dolphin as a Zoran.

This particular node is in the Stormpeaks I think. I've mined it many times and you don't have to land on top of it. it's only a few feet off the ground. It just looks funny when you're swinging your pick axe and missing each time and still getting some ore out of it.
