The Midsummer Fire Festival has begun

The Midsummer Fire Festival should now be live on almost all North American realms. If it isn't, it will be shortly! Not much has changed since last year, beyond the addition of the achievements.Speaking of achievements, while we have our guide to the Achievements of Midsummer, you might not be able to make a significant dent in them today if you made rounds with the flames last year. None of the quests seem to have reset from last year, so getting your hands on the holiday currency to buy the items you need is going to be difficult, to say the least. By difficult, I may or may not mean borderline impossible.
I don't expect this to be a permanent issue, we'll probably see a hotfix sometime in the near future since the problem is already being checked out. Of course, that's assuming the issue is something that can be hotfixed. If not, I don't doubt we'll see a fix of another flavor down the road. I don't foresee Blizzard keeping What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been out of players' hands because of something like this. In the meantime, at least you can still take a crack at Lord Ahune.

Woot, Flame Keeper! yeah you can still do everything you need to do if it's glitched, in fact if it is glitched it makes it easier! because you do not need to do anything to complete them because you did them last year!

My fiance had that trouble - he did it last year so he can't get any flowers this year.
It's really stupid making the currency have a date of limitation on it. People will either spend it or lose it from inuse. It should instead go to a currency tab.
At least there are fires out in Northrend which don't count towards the achievement, but which gives you flowers if you honour/dishonour the flames.

Fires have also appeared in some small camps in Northrend if you need more flames. There are just no achievements for them

Some tips if you want to get the Fire Festival achievment done fast or if you are looking for ways to eek out those last few blozzoms:
You can honor and desecrate all the flames in Northrend for 120 blossoms - for a list of locations check my blog at ww.SpotHeal.wordpress.com
Kill Ahune for the 20-40 if you didn't do last year
Steal the flames from the 3 major cities (4 if you didn't so silvermoon/Exodar last year) for 25 per city. These are repeatable even if you did last year.
If you buy the mantle for the pole dance you can use them and refund them straight away for your 100 blossoms back.
If you're in a hurry you can buy the torches for juggling in Dalaran on the AH, or trade with a guildy. Using them for the achievement doesn't destroy them, so have one person buy and use them and give them to a guildy to save yourself 40 Blossoms.

Good post, but take a note about the torches: choose a lesser-visited spot, best something _outside_ the city, but still in the "Dalaran" zone, e.g. the edge of the floating island.
You may want to "watch" the achievement to have a better indication.
Then, put the torches on your action bar, keys 1 to 9, whichever you want.
Press that key once to bring up the targetting circle, aim just beneath your feet, that way you will catch your own torches.
Now spam, and I really mean SPAM, the action bar key and left mouse button. It won't work on the first time the counter goes up, and probably not for the next two times either, but in the 4th or 5th run, you should be able to throw enough torches.

I thought I'd add another freebie -
You only need 15 torches. No matter how fast you click you can't get more than 15 in the air at once.
So buy 15 of them and spam away as the poster above says. After 40 torches have been thrown and tossed the achievement is completed and you only spent 15 blossoms instead of a possible 40.

Your complete lack of understanding the actual problem is why you got marked down. It's the people who had most of the event done this year that are having trouble, and are rightfully (albeit a bit hysterically at times) complaining that it's impossible for them to finish it until a hotfix happens.

People can't dishonour/honour fires to get flowers which are used to purchase items, including the outfit, for the achievements. I was lucky, i didn't bother doing this event last year on my main because I did the event (what existed for this event) the year before.
How do you complete an achievement without being able to acquire the items to purchase items to use. Last I looked the shoulders, vestments and slippers cost over 400 flowers... the dailies suck, they only give a pitance of flowers - IF you can even do the torch throwing daily when there's tons of people throwing theirs at the same time.

Um actually I posted that a few hours after the even started on Oceanic servers.
At the time there weren't as many people complaining.
Also, I find the torch throwing is not that difficult if you go to someplace like Silvermoon or the Exodar.
