Rolling restarts and maintenance for June 23rd

I was pleasantly surprised to see the maintenance announcement for tomorrow morning available fairly early today. Most of the time, we don't actually know whether there will be maintenance or not until pretty late in the evening. Or I'm imagining that and this is the time we see it every week, who knows!Daytime players will be happy to hear that most realms are only getting rolling restarts. They'll be started at 5:00 AM PDT on North American realms and 10:00 AM PDT for Oceanic realms. There are a fair number of servers being hit with a real maintenance period, but it's only expected to take a few hours: Starting at 5:00 AM PDT and lasting until 8:00 AM PDT. Those realms are: Area 52, Arena Tournament 1, Arena Tournament 2, Auchindoun, Azuremyst, Blade's Edge, Blood Furnace, Coilfang, Dawnbringer, Exodar, Fizzcrank, Galakrond, Ghostlands, Grizzly Hills, Shattered Halls, Terokkar, The Scryers, The Underbog, Velen, and Zangarmarsh.
If you're not sure what those times are in your time zone, the World Clock is a pretty simple tool to help you figure it out.
As always, WoW.com will be here throughout the morning and afternoon should anything come up during maintenance. It's not a patch day, so we can be reasonably sure nothing will come up, but you never know.

I feel fortunate for being on Bloodhoof. Usually unaffected by restarts and maintenance.

The realms listed are all on the Retaliation Battle group. We have had 4 nights in the last 2 weeks where our servers were gone for atleast 2 starting at 9:00 pm EST. 2 of those being Tuesday nights. Hopefully this maintnance will fix that and we wont have a crash this week.

What kind of server are you looking for?
RP, PVP, PVE, RP-PVP? Also what group? EU/US/Oceanic?
If you're US/PVE, i highly suggest Arygos, of course I am biased. However, it's a fairly balanced server faction-wise, very good raid guilds on both factions, however we're not a particularly super-active PvP group, but since we're merging battlegroup soon that may change. And our economy is pretty strong, some say overpriced, but it's not dead by any means.

If you are looking for PVP, Comfortable for EST time zone, I suggest US-kOrgath. There also kArgath but I never played there.
Its more-or-less balanced for PVP 5K-A & 7K-H according to WoWcensus.
I picked Korgath based on: H/A balance, Time zone, latency to it, type (PVP)
I ll suggest: search around and try different realms, see which one you like best. Theres a perfect realm for almost any type of time of play, etc

Another good timezone app is www.qlock.com/time/ its a google-maps modified to show the timezone where your mouse cursor is. very handy for finding the time quickly anywhere in the world. :]

i use to play on RP servers fo to the lowered spam rate but not that big a deal
was a heavy raider (up to the ice dragon on 40 man nax) but BC killed my old guild
been reading the new player guids but was shocked there was no server listing there

We've had rolling restarts and general maintenance every Tuesday for the last 4+ years, how can anyone not expect them at this point?

Taking bets on Retaliation crashing tonight....somewhere around 9:30p EDT...
I think I will stand outside of Slave Pens when the time strikes just so I don't have to watch myself run around in place and then later die....

Apparently, I will have to restart my entire "Desecrating Kalimdor" achievement hunt due to their Fire Festival fix...bummer. Oh well, at least this should get me that much closer to the brazier and/or pet.

No...not terrible at all. In fact, it overall will likely be pretty awesome given that I can now likely get the title, brazier and pet. Still though, bummer in the short term...only had one spot left to go.

I got my Flame Keeper achievement earlier this week-- you still get achievement credit for the flames you desecrated/honored, you just get to do them twice-- free gold!

@Miri ... Sorry you lose, servers didn't even make it to 11:00 AM servertime..
Blizz in it's usual fog and what is becoming the worst customer service, quickly blamed the entire problem on the the patch to fix the Midsummer Fire Festival, and locked all the threads in the Customer Service forum. Now they have gone back to their stock posting that they have run every Tuesday for the past month and a half, " We are working on finding the problem..."
Of course, Miri could still be right. Assuming that they manage to get the battlegroup back up before then, the group could still crash yet again around 6:30 Server time.....
