Feitan offers up even more WoW icons for your enjoyment
Feitan has posted another terrific set of WoW-related icons over on WoW LJ. Combine all of those with the first set, and throw in all of the other ones we've collected for you in the past, and you've got a really nice set of perfectly-sized choices from World of Warcraft to use as your icon on whatever service needs an avatar.
Like, for example, our own comments. While the cartoon Ogre we've got as the default is quite cute, you might want to make yours a little more personal -- all you've got to do is click your name after commenting, and you'll be taken to a page where you can log in and edit your profile, see your comments so far, and yes, update a new profile picture. If you're still using the default commenter icon with our brand new commenting system, now is definitely the time to make the upgrade.

Remen Jun 23rd 2009 6:19PM
And why did I have to confirm my post this time?
livvie Jun 23rd 2009 6:26PM
it never works for me!
kozom Jun 23rd 2009 6:41PM
Likewise, when i click the "are you kozom? If so click here" button nothing happens

I couldn't get either of yours to work either. This comment system is so full of fail. Only suggestion I have is to try with a different email address, but I know that's not an idea solution.
kozom Jun 23rd 2009 8:35PM
Thanks for the response and reassurance that we actually were doing it right Mike, but its okay I'll just live with my already full-of-win ogre for now :P

Mike, I have tried it from three different email addresses. They all produce the same results.
the issue is on your end.
As you actually work for WoW.com, don't you think YOU should be the one finding solutions?

something else i noticed is that my username is always greyed out to me, while others have a pale blue username. could that have something to do with it? no offense to the ogre--he's cute and all--but i'd like to try something a bit more colorful and also, representative of my toon in wow.

Lets see if it works this time...

nih Jun 23rd 2009 7:39PM
It's showing fine for me.
Alex Jun 23rd 2009 7:26PM
Those look really bad.

There are other World of Warcraft icon packs with actual effort put in that are more notable than these awful cropped screenshots. Example: http://www.grovestreetmedia.com/images/icons/icon_set_warcraft.jpg

These are badly compressed and are littered with jpeg artifacts. =/ They're really not that great.
Rosoe Jun 23rd 2009 9:35PM
Every time I try to change my ogre icon, the comment system ignores my "click here to login" clicks. *sadpanda*

Someone loves their sharpen. I can see how the creator thought these "stylish" but they just look dreadful =/
Hilus Jun 23rd 2009 9:56PM
So....?
Bronwyn Jun 23rd 2009 11:19PM
I think I'll just make my own.
Bronwyn Jun 23rd 2009 11:20PM
Turns out I can't get it working either. Ah, well.
Sikaros Jun 24th 2009 1:08AM
