It came from the Blog: Join us for the Midsummer Fire Festival
I warned you this was coming, and now it's almost here! Join us for WoW.com's It Came from the Blog Midsummer Fire Fun and let's go desecrate some Alliance flames! For the Horde!
Actually, we have a lot of players who normally play Alliance -- this isn't a jingoistic event. It's just an excuse to get together and have fun. We may even pick up an achievement or two. Here are the details:
Although any level 1 character is able to join in the festivities, I highly recommend a mounted character for this event. We will be running through territories that have medium level mobs and repeated dying will be very frustrating for you. Also, Zangarmarsh is a PvE server, but desecrating a flame flags you for PvP. On the other hand, many of us have made Death Knights and have taken them through the initial quests, so there will be plenty of level 58+ guildies to help protect you.
Unlike previous events, I will not be summoning people to join us. If you wish to make a lowbie character that is far away from Silvermoon, like a Tauren, please log on early to make your run through the Barrens. Otherwise, getting to the meetup is easy. Take the Zeppelin outside of Orgrimmar to Tirisfal Glades and then use the transporter located in the Ruins of Lordaeron to get to Silvermoon City. We'll be meeting just down the ramp and on the other side of the fountain.
If you have more questions about the guild, please see the It Came from the Blog FAQ. We hope you'll join us!
Actually, we have a lot of players who normally play Alliance -- this isn't a jingoistic event. It's just an excuse to get together and have fun. We may even pick up an achievement or two. Here are the details:
- When: Saturday, June 27th, 5PM Eastern (2PM Pacific, 3PM Server time)
- Where: The Midsummer Fire Festival site in the Court of the Sun, Silvermoon City on Zangarmarsh, U.S.
- Who: Any Horde character who is not in the service of the Lich King. (Death Knights are recommended as long as they have finished their initial quests and have been accepted by Thrall.)
- How: Just send a tell to Robinella or any It Came from the Blog member to get an invite to the raid and the guild

Boo Horde!
Besides, it took me a long while just to do Kalimdor.. I don't know how many people will want to do it over again just ffs.
Magma Jun 23rd 2009 11:19AM
I've done it twice and now I'm about to do it two more times after the reset. The gold and exp is well worth it, alts or not.
Thorie Jun 23rd 2009 9:30AM
Do we have to create a Blood Elf? (seeing as everyone there will be one)
Haji Jun 23rd 2009 10:31AM
You should roll a DK in whatever Horde race you prefer, since you will need/want a mount.
Jay Jun 23rd 2009 12:25PM
My race/gender of choice for Death Knights is female Tauren; they're big without being overly bulky.
And frankly, I think I've seen one other female Tauren DK, ever.

Woohoo!
Don't listen to the naysayers, this will be a lot of fun.
For the Blog!!

Oh this is gonna be fun. I actually play Alliance on Zangarmarsh, so don't worry, I'll be waiting for you guys by the fires. I wish you the best of luck =)
Vandar Jun 23rd 2009 9:55AM
I will definately be there. I've always wanted to show up to one of these but my home server keeps me too busy

For the Alliance!
I think the Alliance should organize to meet this invasion...
All who oppose the Horde should prepare!
rhavvyn Jun 23rd 2009 10:43AM
Actually, I have 2 90 Horde and an 80 Alliance toon on Fenris. It just makes the game more fun for me! :D
dewman of ravenholt Jun 23rd 2009 10:51AM
wow i did not know that wow.com was all about horde.... i mean pple have said it....and they have said they was not...... but well ...wow they have only a horde guild.....
manbe we should make a guild called wow.com sux
wowinsider.com Jun 23rd 2009 11:18AM
"Why did you choose Horde? Do you have something against Alliance?
When the time came to decide on the faction of the guild, the powers that be used a time honored method of making important decisions: they flipped a coin. Thus, It came from the Blog became a Horde guild. No Horde bias was intended and many of our contributors play Alliance or both sides."
Sorry you lost the coin flip. QQ moar pls.
mrs_carth_onasi Jun 23rd 2009 11:11AM
Oh stop it! Just because ONE person from WoW.com is having one does not mean they all are. Stop being so bloody melodramatic; this is supposed to be a fun occasion! Lighten up dudes =)
Scott Jun 23rd 2009 11:27AM
Fun for who? The Horde? Let's make it fun for all.
I will happily slay Horde all day long...
dewman of ravenholt Jun 23rd 2009 12:12PM
oh how lame, mr.wowinsider.com, 1st off ...dew your homework...and look me up, because the last time i checked night elfs were not on the horde side. so no i have no problems with the alliance....
and really.... a coin flip? you claim that you have pple who work for you that play just alli toon's right? then why not make 2 guilds?
could it be that this website is just like i said it was.......
or can you guys not figure out away to have 2 differnt guilds?
so go ahead and black this one out too, and it's not really QQing as it is just saying what everyone knows already, so just admitt this site is ahorde site.
FOR THE ALLIANCE!!!!!! and down with the horde!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Robin Torres Jun 23rd 2009 12:33PM
FYI
1) The person who chose wowinsider.com as a user name is not actually an employee, but the coin flip quote is from our FAQ
2) The readers voted down your post to darken it, not the writers. It means they disagree with you.
3) Does it really matter what side is chosen? We are in it for the fun.
Rick Jun 23rd 2009 12:34PM
Okay, dewman of ravenholt. Do you come here just to QQ? Honestly, if you're so worried about an Alliance guild for this event, why not start one yourself? Start it on the same server, same time, and give the wow.com guild something to worry about :). Come to think of it, I might just do that...throw a little more fun into the mix!
Personally, I think its cool that the people that run this site are willing to do something with their readers, not only is it fun, but it helps to ensure that people will keep reading ;).
dewman of ravenholt Jun 23rd 2009 12:53PM
and is not part of the fun horde v alli? i'm from a rppvp realm...
but, i will admitt ms. torres i did think it was your website who responded.
maybe you should ask wowinsider.com to change his name.
and i still think that you should make an alli guild too.
think of the "fun" you could make putting each guild against each other....
and not just in pvp,
and last...... maybe i would like to have fun with this web site too without having to chose aside of the game i really really really dislike.
so as i know there are other readers of yours who like me play only one side or the other,
maybe as website you should not have flipped a coin.
so to answer your question.... yes to me it dose matter what side was chosen, because i will not have ahorde toon......
The QQfairy has sprinkled too much QQ dust on you Jun 23rd 2009 3:43PM
GROW THE HELL UP.
That is all.
Rick Jun 23rd 2009 1:03PM
They do a lot of stuff on this side that benefits both factions. Their class blogs are not faction specific, in fact, from what I recall, 99% of wow.com's blog posts are non-specific as far as faction goes. Just because they chose to create a Horde guild doesn't mean they don't play Alliance, don't support it, etc. Like I said, if you're worried about it, create a guild yourself. Problem solved.
