New information found in patch 3.2 achievements

The first patch 3.2 PTR client is now available for download, which means it's available for datamining. The ever-resourceful people at wirebrain have done just this to all the achievements found in the client, and have unearthed some interesting new details. We are unable to verify this information right now, but here's what they've found.
Read on after the cut for:
- A new holiday.
- The names of the bosses in the new raid and 5-man dungeon, and their related achievements.
- A new Vault of Archavon boss.
To be clear, there will be spoilers.
The new holiday is going to be called Pilgrim's Bounty, and is clearly modeled after Thanksgiving. The achievements most revolve around food, and if you do them all, you get a "Pilgrim" title and a turkey pet.
It seems that there is a Bountiful Table at each capitol, with a variety of dishes to enjoy. There are also a number of new recipes to cook, and various side achievements. See the Wirebrain list for more. Finally, there will be daily quests, like many recent holidays have. I'm not seeing any mention of a special boss.
As for the new 5-man dungeon, Trial of the Champion, it looks like it will have a different set of bosses for Horde and Alliance, with each faction apparently fighting the Grand Champions of the other faction.
- Ambrose Boltspark
- Colosos
- Lana Stouthammer
- Marshal Jacob Alerius
- Jaelyne Evensong
- Argent Confessor Paletress
- Eadric the Pure
- The Black Knight
And here's the other:
- Deathstalker Visceri
- Eressea Dawnsinger
- Mokra the Skullcrusher
- Runok Wildmane
- Zul'tore
- Argent Confessor Paletress
- Eadric the Pure
- The Black Knight
It looks like the first set are Alliance NPCs that the Horde fight, and the second set is the reverse. After the faction-specific bosses, there are two Argent-aligned bosses, followed by the Black Knight. All I have to say is I hope there is no jousting in this instance, because that is the most boring combat there is in WoW.
As for the raid instance that we are all looking forward to so much, I see the following bosses listed on the achievement list:
- Gormok the Impaler
- Acidmaw
- Dreadscale
- Icehowl
- Lord Jaraxxus
- Edyis Darkbane
- Fjola Lightbane
- Final Boss
One of those names looks like a placeholder to me, though I can't put my finger on why exactly. This contradicts the "5 bosses" figure we were given for the raid; maybe some of these bosses are randomly selected, like the bosses in Violet Hall.
There is also a reference in the achievements to "twin valkyr," so the Darkbane and Lightbane bosses are probably part of the same encounter. That still leaves us with 7 bosses, though. If Acidmaw, Dreadscale, and Icehowl are part of the same encounter, either all at once, randomly chosen, or as a sort of gauntlet (like the second boss in Utgarde Pinnacle), that would leave us with the proper 5.
As for the other raid achievements, it's hard to derive too much from them. There is one achievement that refers to reaching the Tribute Chest with 50 attempts left in heroic mode, so I would guess that 50 is the number of attempts you start out with.
Finally, the new Vault of Archavon boss will be named Koralon the Flame Watcher.
Interesting stuff! I'm looking forward to seeing more on the PTR.
Patch 3.2 will bring about a new 5, 10, and 25 man instance to WoW, and usher in a new 40-man battleground called the Isle of Conquest. They've already introduced two new bosses to the Vault of Archavon, but one question I'm asking is "When will we be seeing a new Wyrmrest Temple raid?"

5 fights, not 5 bosses. There are references to the "Twin Val'kyr" in the achievements (Edyis Darkbane and Fjola Lightbane?), also Blizzard mentioned "two Jormungar worms" (Acidmaw and Dreadscale?)

********SPOILERS**********
You're supposed to think there's only 5 bosses. It wouldn't be a surprise if you knew there were more than 5 bosses. Like I said, Anub'Arak is back, and now its been confirmed by his new model and the cavern under the arena.

The Thanksgiving boss ought to be a giant centaur named Colombo who tries to steal Tauren land.
And there needs to be a Wednesday Addams reference somewhere.

What I'm interested in, is on MMOChampion, they said an achievement labeled "The Traitor King" will be in the game, and that it involves killing scarabs. Could this be Anub'arak?

The acheivement ttitled "I've Had Worse" seems a bit strange:
"Defeat the Black Knight in 10 minutes while wearing all blue items, before 3 Volcanoes erupt, while everyone in the group has at least 1 stack of Spurting Blood and there are no shamans or paladins in the party but before you spend at least 1000 gold in r"
is that r repairs? if so they can't be serious about that one.

It honestly sounds like something they put in to dick with the dataminers.
Jahka Jun 24th 2009 1:58AM
I have a question: are they ever going to implement the rest of the portals under Wyrmrest Temple??
Seraphna Jun 24th 2009 9:21AM
Remember, the Caverns of Time has spanned 2 expansions so far, this instance hub can easily support other expansions as well.
Waveofshadow Jun 24th 2009 10:42PM
The final boss is Anub'arak.
One of the Achievements is named "The Traitor King" and looking at some of the pictures shows the coliseum opened up onto part of Azjol'Nerub.

* Gormok the Impaler
* Acidmaw
* Dreadscale
* Icehowl
* Lord Jaraxxus
* Edyis Darkbane
* Fjola Lightbane
* Final Boss
Look at the names, three of those are clearly Dragons / Drakes, three are humanoids. I'm suspecting Gormok to be his own boss. Then the next three bosses one of those humanoids and a dragon mount, followed by the final boss. That makes 5.

Totally disappointed that Blizzard didn't use a non-standard holiday. Yawn.....
Dbooker Jun 24th 2009 3:45PM
Looks to me like the following would makes the most sense for potential boss groupings:
1. Gormok the Impaler
2. Acidmaw, Dreadscale, Icehowl
3. Lord Jaraxxus
4. Edyis Darkbane, Fjola Lightbane
5. Final Boss
elvenholyman Jun 24th 2009 10:42PM
from what they said being "a magnataur and two jormungar" i see it as this
1. Gormok the Impaler, Acidmaw, Dreadscale, the magnataur and two jormungar
2. Icehowl something not to sure on what
3. Lord Jaraxxus most likely an elemental lord or a demon
4. Edyis Darkbane, Fjola Lightbane the twin valkyr
5. Final Boss praying for reincarnated anub'arak

Someone might have notice this by now, but those five alliance names are the five faction NPCs you get quests from at the alliance HQ of the tournament. They all seem warrior or "knight" types, hopefully this won't make this encounters repetitive? I definetely hope these are not mounted fights...
On another note, it'd be interesting to see how the races are matched. The hord mob in the Nexus is an orc and his alliance equivalent is a dwarf. Tauren=gnome?
Elry Jun 30th 2009 10:12AM
Archavon the Stone Watcher, Emalon the Storm Watcher and now Koralon the Flame Watcher.
Who's the next one going to be? Savlon the "Shining Star"? It's like a "Boogie Wonderland" it makes me want to "Sing a Song".
