Patch 3.2 T9 set bonuses and relics
Continuing on the data-mining train, we have now learned the set bonuses from the tier 9 gear that is coming in patch 3.2 (confirming, by the way, that there will be a real tier of gear in the Crusader's Coliseum raid). There is also information available on some new relics for the relic-bearing classes (Paladin, Druid, Shaman, and Death Knight).
Information after the break. Keep in mind some of these are certainly placeholders. The priest healing 4-piece, for instance, is strictly worse than the priest healing 2-piece Tier 8 bonus; there's no way it would go live like this. Some of the bonuses don't even make any sense, like the Warlock 4-piece. Datamined info is always suspect.
| Set | 2-piece bonus | 4-piece bonus |

| Mage | Increases the armor you gain from Ice Armor by 20%, the mana regeneration you gain from Mage Armor by 10%, and converts an additional 25% of your spirit into critical strike rating when Molten Armor is active. | Increases the critical strike chance of your Fireball, Frostbolt, Frostfire Bolt, and Arcane Blast spells by 5%. |

| Warrior DPS | Berserker Stance grants an additional 2% critical strike chance, and Battle Stance grants an additional 6% armor penetration. | Increases the critical strike chance of your Slam and Execute abilities by 5%. |
| Warrior tank | Decreases the cooldown on your Intervene ability by 5 sec. | Decreases the cooldown on your Shield Block ability by 20 sec. |
And here are the stats on the relics. I'm just glad to see another tanking idol for druids; I was afraid we'd be stuck with one per expansion again. Still unknown is how these relics will be attained; my guess is Emblems of Triumph (which drop from the new raid).

Warlock 4 piece... huh?
Kadamon Jun 23rd 2009 6:38PM
2 and 4 piece make no sense.
Josh_perusse Jun 24th 2009 6:36PM
I like how it says stuff like "increases the damage of Lava burst by 0.021 seconds"
yep
damage is by seconds.
Xanwryn Jun 23rd 2009 10:36PM
Yay! we get 0.011 SECONDS OF DAMAGE! I lol'd at those bonuses.
angelbar027 Jun 24th 2009 5:33PM
Warlock set bonus is aweful, what is bliz thinking
Kalerender Jun 23rd 2009 6:36PM
10% extra crit chance to pet? *vomit*
Drachenlord Jun 23rd 2009 6:38PM
Agreed, wholeheartedly
Burix Jun 23rd 2009 7:28PM
Unless you couple that with the 100% spell crit chance proc from empowered imp when your pet crits.
Kalerender Jun 23rd 2009 7:33PM
Which would make it 10% extra crit effectively for destro locks, demon locks would get demonic pact up quicker/more reliably stay there, and aff locks would get.. uhh.. k?
Then ignoring the fact it has increase damage by time on the 4pc which just seems like data placeholder, if it was only those 3 spells being affected then affliction would get a bigger increase than destro from it.
All in all they just seem not very well thought out, and bonuses that only affect pets are just irritating.

I skip down right to the warrior tanks.. and was disapointed.. i had to boo the sets out loud... look like I'm not gonna worry my self with getting the gear sets come T9.. =/
Mohrlock Jun 23rd 2009 10:32PM
Have to agree, they are pretty shite... 4 piece is a bit ho-hum...
But the 2? Are there really that many noobs out there that we need to intervene that they made it a set bonus? Come on!!!
Gareth Jun 24th 2009 6:47AM
Agreed, the 2 piece set bonus for warrior tanks is useful only in pvp, the last time I felt I needed to intervene in a fight was back in TBC when we had to manage aggro.
The four piece set bonus though is actually quite good, since it almost makes it possible to keep block up 60% of the time during a fight making warrior tanks almost then as good as paladin ones :P
But since paladins have a auto cast when you need it only guardian spirit on a 2 minute cooldown then my warrior tank will only be off tanking from now on, and I'm not posting as I'm disgruntled the raid leader will "demote" me here, I'm talking here about the raids that I lead myself.

"Your Rejuvenation ability now has a chance for its healing to be critical strikes."
Seriously?
Whoever is creating these set bonuses loves their druids.
Kraeus Jun 23rd 2009 7:59PM
Oh yeah? Take a look at ferals. Crap for bears (again).
Blistter Jun 24th 2009 9:50AM
Yes. Resto Druid set rocks.
pinkysan Jun 24th 2009 2:24PM
not to mention the idol that grants SP for rejuv... just beautiful synergy between the set and idol.
Kadamon Jun 23rd 2009 6:37PM
I love the Mage 2pc set bonus lots.
Even more crit gained from all that Spirit I decided to finally add up.
peagle Jun 23rd 2009 7:07PM
Yeah, that whopping 20% boost to Ice Armor upgrades our armor effectiveness from "wet napkin" to "napkin".
Aside from that, the Molten Armor buff is sweet.
liu Jun 23rd 2009 7:26PM
Agreed - as an Arcane mage, looks like I'm stuck with 2T7, 2T8 for the foreseeable future.
Faust Jun 23rd 2009 6:38PM
Okay, so the rogue 2 piece...
in.
fckin.
sane.
That has the potential, with a decent proc rate, to be vastly, vastly overpowered, in both pvp and pve setups.
