Patch 3.2 T9 set bonuses and relics
Continuing on the data-mining train, we have now learned the set bonuses from the tier 9 gear that is coming in patch 3.2 (confirming, by the way, that there will be a real tier of gear in the Crusader's Coliseum raid). There is also information available on some new relics for the relic-bearing classes (Paladin, Druid, Shaman, and Death Knight).
Information after the break. Keep in mind some of these are certainly placeholders. The priest healing 4-piece, for instance, is strictly worse than the priest healing 2-piece Tier 8 bonus; there's no way it would go live like this. Some of the bonuses don't even make any sense, like the Warlock 4-piece. Datamined info is always suspect.

| Warrior DPS | Berserker Stance grants an additional 2% critical strike chance, and Battle Stance grants an additional 6% armor penetration. | Increases the critical strike chance of your Slam and Execute abilities by 5%. |
| Warrior tank | Decreases the cooldown on your Intervene ability by 5 sec. | Decreases the cooldown on your Shield Block ability by 20 sec. |
And here are the stats on the relics. I'm just glad to see another tanking idol for druids; I was afraid we'd be stuck with one per expansion again. Still unknown is how these relics will be attained; my guess is Emblems of Triumph (which drop from the new raid).

Okayplayer Jun 23rd 2009 6:40PM
Yep, totally underwhelmed. Guess I know where my new collection of badges will be going... Full set of Tier 8 here I come.
Seraph Jun 23rd 2009 6:40PM
DK tank: 2 sec off taunt.
Druid tank: 2 sec off taunt.
Pally tank: 2 sec off taunt.
Warrior tank: 5 sec off intervene. WTF? I can think of about 7 million more situations where I've said "gee, I wish taunt was up" than I can "gee, I wish I could intervene that guy".
Strike anyone else as odd?
Heilig Jun 23rd 2009 7:48PM
At least your set bonus buffs an ability you might actually use. Paladins don't even use Righteous Defense anymore. Hand of Reckoning is our true taunt, and it is sorely lacking as is. A set bonus that affected the taunt we actually use would be welcome. This is just trash.

Vigilance

@ Heilig
The same goddaming thing came to my mind when I read this. I'm not even sure if Righteous Defense even is on my actionbar...
Samsonite Jun 24th 2009 10:04AM
Yeah, 2 set bonus for Warrior tanks is FuBar. I rarely have a problem with threat. If there is some dps that's melting face, I'll put Vig on them; problem solved. If a mob still gets away, I'd much rather taunt than intervene and pull the rest of the mobs I have aggro on out of position.
What warriors need is a boost to AoE threat, and with the awesome amount of dodge on the new gear, rage generation. Give a 2 set bonus to either rage or TC.

Ooh, I'm liking how the new Ret libram looks

"Increases the damage done by your Immolate, Corruption, and Unstable Affliction spells by 0.011 sec."
this sentence could amuse me for light years!
Retron Jun 23rd 2009 7:16PM
Not to mention many parsecs!
Gareth Jun 24th 2009 6:48AM
Its written in pigeon for sure, but the bonus is actually quite solid if I'm reading it right for affliction as being 1% extra dps for three spells, solid but uninspiring.
shortymjh Jun 23rd 2009 6:50PM
The paladin healing 2-piece would be terrible. I would understand reducing its use on the global cooldown, but really it's only absolutely necessary every minute for the 15% haste buff.
Jenessa Jun 23rd 2009 6:49PM
Hmmm I am loving the druid bonuses. The hunter 2 piece is a little lame.
Mechakisc Jun 23rd 2009 7:26PM
(Not really addressing this to you, Jenessa, just replying where someone has said something.)
The phrasing you are looking for is "completely worthless for everyone except BM".
You thought we QQ'ed about the Tier 8 4pc? You ain't heard nothing yet. Perhaps you've heard that no one raids as BM at this time?
The 2pc may actually be a nerf even for BM hunters in a raid. Pet survivability hasn't exactly gone through the roof lately.
Ringo Flinthammer Jun 23rd 2009 9:08PM
Even with a single point in Go For the Throat, my pet is constantly at full Focus. I have a hard time picturing how the 2-piece bonus will affect things in the least, unless there are some yet-to-be-seen changes to how pet Focus works.
The 4-piece bonus isn't exciting, but it's an obvious and measurable benefit.
Tryx Jun 23rd 2009 9:58PM
Has anyone realized that the Hunter t9 4pc is exactly the same as the hunter t5 4pc? Interesting...
swampsquatch Jun 24th 2009 10:58AM
The hunter 2 piece does seem lame but it will free up at least a point or 2 in "Go For the Throat" had you taken them.
Nick S Jun 23rd 2009 6:52PM
Holy Paladin 2-set... worst set bonus ever?
4-set bonus is good, though, as is the libram.
Hal Jun 23rd 2009 7:05PM
Eh, the Tankadin set bonuses are rather silly as well. I can't imagine either of them being particularly useful in making Pallies better tanks (although Righteous Defense might be more helpful in Ulduar . . . haven't been there yet).
The libram, on the other hand? Pure awesome.
