Patch 3.2 T9 set bonuses and relics
Continuing on the data-mining train, we have now learned the set bonuses from the tier 9 gear that is coming in patch 3.2 (confirming, by the way, that there will be a real tier of gear in the Crusader's Coliseum raid). There is also information available on some new relics for the relic-bearing classes (Paladin, Druid, Shaman, and Death Knight).
Information after the break. Keep in mind some of these are certainly placeholders. The priest healing 4-piece, for instance, is strictly worse than the priest healing 2-piece Tier 8 bonus; there's no way it would go live like this. Some of the bonuses don't even make any sense, like the Warlock 4-piece. Datamined info is always suspect.
| Set | 2-piece bonus | 4-piece bonus |

| Mage | Increases the armor you gain from Ice Armor by 20%, the mana regeneration you gain from Mage Armor by 10%, and converts an additional 25% of your spirit into critical strike rating when Molten Armor is active. | Increases the critical strike chance of your Fireball, Frostbolt, Frostfire Bolt, and Arcane Blast spells by 5%. |

| Warrior DPS | Berserker Stance grants an additional 2% critical strike chance, and Battle Stance grants an additional 6% armor penetration. | Increases the critical strike chance of your Slam and Execute abilities by 5%. |
| Warrior tank | Decreases the cooldown on your Intervene ability by 5 sec. | Decreases the cooldown on your Shield Block ability by 20 sec. |
And here are the stats on the relics. I'm just glad to see another tanking idol for druids; I was afraid we'd be stuck with one per expansion again. Still unknown is how these relics will be attained; my guess is Emblems of Triumph (which drop from the new raid).

Well as i read the 4 piece warrior set for tanking i didnt find it that bad at all. Yes the two piece is a joke but four is actually pretty good. With the talent points in shield mastery ur shield block abilty is already lowered to being on a 40 second cd. Plus the 4 set bonus in additional 20 seconds being taken off well only leave 20 seconds. And i bieleve the shield block last 10 seconds itself.
conker87 Jun 23rd 2009 7:17PM
Wait, Seal of Vengeance for a Ret libram?!
FordPrfct Jun 23rd 2009 7:19PM
Balance Druid T9 four-piece bonus increases the crit chance of Starfire by 5%.
Balance Druid T7 four-piece bonus increases the crit chance of Starfire and Wrath by 5%.
What the hell? We're going backward now?

I just can't think of any value to longer-lasting judgement for a Holy Paladin in a raid. Ideally, you should be judging Light, which should be overwritten at most a few seconds later by a higher-powered Ret Light.
brian Jun 24th 2009 3:39AM
They actually changed Judgment of Light too. It's just a percentage of health now. Which is awesome for tanks!... but who knows how that change will end up for normal melee.
brownyboi Jun 24th 2009 6:06AM
Yep, looks like holy paladins are going to be judging light again (which kind of makes sense).

Yeah pet survivability is just sad. I have a MM hunter, stopped BM after the golden insta-win macro got thrown out.
It seems blizzard doesn't give a crap anymore, T7 bonuses were beautiful and I wish they would put the thought back into the bonuses.
The only reason to keep my wolf alive is for the AP bonus it gives me :/
Fung Jun 23rd 2009 7:38PM
i shouldn't have read this. yeah, i know, it's all beta and will change a hundred times before live, and there are obvious placeholders..
but step back from the content and lets do some signal analysis. which classes/specs look like they have a definite plan? which classes have obvious "fill this in later" bonuses? and lastly, which classes, instead of placeholders, have something in them thats actively screwed up.
i think looking at the list this way, it matches up pretty well with the playerbases's allegations of some classes getting more attention than others.
congratulations ele shammys, i think it's official, and we warlocks welcome you into the mushroom club.
Squeek Jun 24th 2009 3:56AM
Seriously.
I mean, yes, datamined. Yes, pre-release. Yes yes yes.
But why is it always Elemental Shaman?
It's even more of a slap in the face when you realize that this is now the fourth set of Emblem loot that we're on now and we still do not have properly-itemized gear available from the Emblem Vendor. Ok, so maybe the gear for your class has too much hit / apen / spirit, etc. But none of the stats are worthless to you. This is like giving mages Defense (actually, they might like that). We. Don't. Need. Mp5.
Now commence with the "less qq moar pew pew" and the downrating because Shaman are OP or something. It's just a rant from an Elemental Shaman who is stuck with Naxx25 gear because the itemization on Ulduar gear is pathetically bad and the trend is looking to continue, so I fully understand if you decide that my comment isn't worthwhile.

Hunter bonuses are incredibly underwhelming.
2-piece seems bad. Pets already have enough focus with 1/2 GftT
As for 4-piece bonuses... Mages get 5% crit to Fireball, Frostbolt, Frostfire Bolt, and Arcane Blast spells. Rogues get 5% crit to Hemorrhage, Sinister Strike, Backstab, and Mutilate. Hunters get... 5% crit to Steady Shot! Not only is it 1 vs many, it's also an ability that makes up only a small % of our DPS, except for BM.
Sometimes it seems Blizzard makes our bonuses deliberately fit all specs, ie improve an ability all specs use: Steady Shot in the case of T8 and now T9. But why? Why not give say, 5% crit to Explosive and Chimera, and some sort of unique bonus to BM that won't benefit other specs. Steady Shot bonuses are getting lame.

Obviously the 4pc elemental bonus is borked as well -- you can't increase damage by a unit of time on a non-DOT spell.
Winterhoof Jun 23rd 2009 8:41PM
good thing they're placeholders.
that t9 feral set bonus doesn't even hold a wet match to T8's
StrCmdMan Jun 23rd 2009 8:47PM
Am i missing something here the Pally tanking 4 set states that its going to reduce the cooldown of Divine Protection when with Sacred Duty your DP is already reduced by 1 minute making DP a 2 minute cooldown with a 2 minute forbearance debuff. Sacred Duty due to its 8% stam buff is a required skill which all pally tanks should have by default.
Am i missing something or does this beg the question that either this information is inaccurate, or there's potential for a change in the forbearance debuff, or a hint at a change in the prot pally talent tree not yet known.
Rune Jun 23rd 2009 11:04PM
As a pally tank two things, firstly the two set is utterly a waste of time.......we barely use that skill only in very specific situations and even then mostly after our other low cooldown taunt. I'd maybe use that once in a full raid run if that and that would be situational and a cooldown change would be of no use.
Secondly as said by StrCmdMan, that 4 set ability is usually a 2 min skill with talents accounted for, unless they change forbearance then it actually gives no benefit whatsoever.
So two completely, insanely, utterly useless bonuses unless changes come in in meantime.
Rhornez Jun 23rd 2009 9:34PM
hey im loving the warrior dps set
Warrior DPS 2/4 Berserker Stance grants an additional 2% critical strike chance, and Battle Stance grants an additional 6% armor penetration. 4/4 Increases the critical strike chance of your Slam and Execute abilities by 5%.
get ready for some massive critical strikes clothies
Doma Jun 23rd 2009 11:53PM
uhh the ele 4 piece has the damage of a spell being increased by an amount of time.
huh?
Neirin Jun 24th 2009 1:49AM
I'm gonna guess most of the 4pc bonuses are placeholders - they're almost all +5% crit things, and the balance druid's 4pc stands out as being worse than t7's 4pc (5% crit for SF AND Wrath, not just SF).
Still, some of those 2pc bonuses are nuts. I'm definitely looking forward to MF tick crits on my druid and extra ArP on my warrior.
The 4pc bonus for feral druids kinda makes me want to make feral my main spec for my druid though, 10% more reduction on barkskin and 5% crit to Rip (and FB, but Rip is the big one) is just sick.
Also,
Neirin Jun 24th 2009 1:50AM
darn, cut off my comment, but basically I like the tanking idol for druids.
Ragnarocket Jun 24th 2009 2:11AM
Wow, the resto shaman ones kinda cancel each other out. Riptide increased by 20%, whoopie? But then the crit chance of CH getting increased. Isn't that what they gave us riptide for? So, we cast riptide with its 20% increase, only to cancel it out for the most part when we guarantee a crit with CH when we hit that person. I dunno...seems slightly underwhelming.
