Breakfast Topic: Did the Patch 3.2 news bring you back to the Tournament?

The fact that the Crusader title and Exalted with the Sunreavers/Silver Covenant are required to take part in the new Argent Tournament solo content is playing a big role in my decision to play through the current dailies again. I stopped doing them just shy of Crusader, with no real intent to go and finish it off. As much as I wanted the title, I really could not bear doing those dailies anymore. One can only joust so much! I'm very much interested in the new content and items though, so with those two goals being the gateways to it, I'm not given much of an option. Crusader or bust. I do not like to bust.
It's still not the most fun I've ever had playing a game, but I'm willing to grin and bear it to get at the Patch 3.2 content. On the bright side, it is really good gold. Not that I need gold after my last stretch of doing these quests, but I suppose gold is eternal. I'll chew through it like bubble gum when the next expansion rolls around.
How about you guys, are you looking forward to Patch 3.2's Argent Tournament content? Did you get sick of the current Tournament content as quickly as I did, or are you in the camp that loves it and has always loved it? If you did get burned out, do you think patch 3.2 will fix the issues you had with it or are you going to wait and see for yourself before making any guesses?
Patch 3.2 will bring about a new 5, 10, and 25 man instance to WoW, and usher in a new 40-man battleground called the Isle of Conquest. Did the Patch 3.2 news bring you back to the Tournament?
No way, no how. I actively dislike the tournament now. My main is Exalted Champion of the Undercity and I really wanted that title for her so did what I had to to get her that title. Now that that's done I'm keeping far, far away and will continue to do so.

The Argent Tournament is dull and boring, and I doubt the new content will change that. I never got "Of" anything. I couldn't bring myself to bang my head against the keyboard long enough. It's terrible content. Clunk, kludgey and confounding.

I note a lot of comments about the jousting sucking. It does take a while to get the technique down, but once you do, it's a 5 minute quest (and actually fun!). There is a technique to it, but once you master it, it's a minute per joust.
The only thing they really need to fix with it now is when the battle ends prematurely while you're in the ring with you being ignorantly told that you need more practice. (I always battle horde, so I assume they cheat!)
Yes, it is a bit of a grind to get the seals, but the rewards are worth it. As soon as patch 3.2 comes around, I'll be getting my portable bank / mailbox / vendor and how many times we wished we had one of those at our disposal.

Exalted Argent Champion of the Alliance (Crusader)
I figured out methods to make the jousting bit go very quick, and even have no problems vs commanders.
Before I hit Crusader I would commonly grab the valiant 10x kill, the champion 15x kill, go to shadow vault, grab the 3 dailies there, kill the guys around the ring nearby, plant flags in them all, burn the houses and shoot things down. Took maybe 5 minutes to complete 5 dailies that route.
Then head down to the citadel and do the valiant and champion before the gates quests at the same time, swing back around and solo chillmaw, then turn everything in.

So if I handed in The Valiant's Charge with a particular faction before I was exalted with them, the only way I can now get exalted for the Crusader title is by grinding runecloth, or grinding Champion's Writs?
Why the hell didn't Blizzard make it clear: DON'T HAND THIS IN UNTIL YOU'RE EXALTED!

Encouraging people to grind is just laziness.
"Hey guys, sorry the tournament is so freaking boring, but if you grind and grind and grind and grind 6 or 7 reps to exalted, we might toss you a bone in the next patch!"
"Hey guys, we're fixing it to that if you grind and grind and grind and grind heroics, you can have way more and better emblems than those dummies who attempt hard raid content!"
I feel insulted.

I started working on these reputations almost as soon as the tournament started. I didn't do EVERY daily quest, but I did most, every day from a day or two after the tournament started, until I got my Crusader title on May 9th.
I have to ask, HOW are some of the people here jousting, that it takes them so long to down an opponent? I don't know if you were exaggerating that it takes you less time to run around and do the other tournament dailies than the jousting portion, but seriously, it is not a difficult task. Even with a bit of nasty Wintergrasp style lag [the kind where you have

-comment continued once again.. this website thought I was trying to put a html tag in and kept cutting me off-
less than 100ms latency but somehow your abilities take 3-10 seconds to execute] I had very few problems pulling this off.
I also echo the sentiment that there is a really nice and easy gold making potential in the tournament, especially while you are grinding valiant for one faction and champion for another.

AT dailies a grind?
A little tedious perhaps, but having reached Crusader, the champion daily's that remain take little more than 15 minutes to complete in total - minimal time investment for a decent cash reward and ofc the champion seals to stockpile.
I came to the AT off the back of 6 weeks of doing Skybreaker dailes which, to be frank, bored the hell out of me after just a week or so. (How many ungrateful slaves in a cave do I have to slaughter before boredom punts me off the virtual coil?)
I can at least, find some common ground with those who consider the event to be out of place with the whole theme of WotLK. Prancing around on pretty ponies with big point sticks in the frozen wastes of Icecrown is a little bizarre. Sure, tournaments may have been a regular feature of the medieval age, but on the front lines during a war?
The AT would, I think, have been better located at each major city well away from the battle front. That would have made more sense, with selected jousting champions then being signed up and sent to the battle front, for the next phase - that would have tied in nicely and provided a thread for going on to attack the mounted forces in Icecrown, finally leading onto the Coliseum when that's completed.
Arthas must be just about busting his dry and dusty ribs, seeing the eccentric behaviour of the allied forces on his doorstep!
"Oh noes! They killed Chillmaw 30 days in a row.......muhah"

I am starting to develop altoholism, and I guess it´s because I find the daily quests/rep grind stuff incredibly boring. Far too repetitive. At least when you level an alt, even if you have done many of the quests before(I tend to skip the most boring ones and do the ones I liked), you do it on a different class with different abilities.
When I first started playing the game I remember reading that "rest bonus" was a help so you could keep up with your friends even if they had more play time than you..I liked that, I have a job and a family so unlike some of my guildies that are always online (unemployed..) I have to negotiate with my wife to get play time (and still keep her...).
But as soon as you reach the level cap the help from rest bonus disappears, now your unemployed guildies can boast of stuff you can never achieve. I wish Blizzard would come up with some kind of "rest bonus"(like for the faction you put on your xp bar) for rep grind, to level the playing field a little.
I remember grinding away in Netherwing to get my drake and seeing guildies linking their latest mounts in chat. And you said "gratz" knowing that was another rep reward you would never see..

I guess still kinda feels like it is stretching it. I'll look forward to jousting with Arthas.

Of course not, it involves vehicles!!! I don't like them; my addons and UI doesn't like them; and while nothing is as bad as vehicles in mid-November, they are still buggy.
It sure seems like a poor business decision to use vehicles in something that is supposed to appeal to the customer base that is not arena or Ulduar.

I don't understand how anyone could NOT like the Argent tournament dailies. I realize they may not be for everyone, but they're definately different than most dailies, and I've found them to be a pleasant change from the ones in Burning Crusade. The only one(s) I don't like doing, are to go get the sword du jour. That's mainly because I have to leave the zone for it. Since the dailes started, I've only missed them a few times. Yes, dailies are repetetive... but as someone who spent months doing dailies on The Isle in BC, I can say for sure that the Argent dailies are the only ones I may never stop doing. None of the other ones in Icecrown have ever had me coming back. I think I did each one once and said "That's enough of that." I still haven't hit exalted with Sons of Hodir.
