Patch 3.2 PTR: New Children's Week quests revealed
Bornakk hinted about this awhile back and we knew what the reward pets were going to be but when this years Children's Week came and went with no new content, a lot of players were a tad disappointed. Well now that the PTR is up in order to test patch 3.2, testers can find the Northrend incarnation of Children's Week in full swing and that means lots of shiny new quests. The new quests see you taking around a Wolvar orphan named Kekek or little Roo of the Oracles to meet certain famous people or visit various landmarks in Northend like Wrymrest Temple, Vordrassil, Dalaran and the Bronze Dragonshrine.
You then have to take them to a toy shop in Dalaran and buy them each a gift. If you've ever done the classic or Outland Children's Week quests then you'll know the drill and it still looks like a lot of fun. Check out our gallery below to find out more about what the quests involve.
Patch 3.2 will bring about a new 5, 10, and 25 man instance to WoW, and usher in a new 40-man battleground called the Isle of Conquest. WoW.com will have you covered every step of the way, from extensive PTR coverage through the official live release. Any word on if you need a certain reputation with wolvar or oracles?
Zalvi Jun 24th 2009 9:10AM
i was wondering the same thing, if we hated with the oracles how can we do their siade of the children's week?

I expect it to be the difference between Horde and Alliance, you can only do one.
The real question is will we have the quest to do when 3.2 hits or will we have to wait another year.

I sure hope we can choose the orphan regardless of our standing with the factions, I recently switched back to the Oracles but I prefer the Frenzyhearts (first did Frenzyheart until I was Exalted, got the wanted Brew along the way, then switched to Oracles to farm the mount, but got bored of them and their endless supply of pets after a while, so I switched to Frenzyheart again, but as I said, recently went back to farm the mount again...)
Plus, "normal" people not interested in the factions per se probably are a) still farming the mount and are Oracles whether they like it or not, or b) got the mount, then farmed Frenzyheart to Exalted for the achievement, then stopped doing those dailies altogether, since they didn't care. Even if you just need standard honored rep, at least the a guys could be annoyed if they had to switch just for the choice of the reward pet, then farming back the Oracles for 7 days to get a new egg... Plus, switching factions makes you lose one Exalted faction, again for an achievement.
You know, this whole problem wouldn't exist if the mount could be looted from the Ripe Disgusting Jar, too.

When I did it on the PTR I was given a choice, and a warning that I could only do one. Mind you, the toon had no rep with either faction, but you never visit the faction's town, so I would bet that everyone can do either quest chain regardless of their faction choice.

Any word on what acheivements are coinciding with this? Toting children around Wintergraps could be all sorts of chaotic...I can't wait!

DoctorOnline Jun 24th 2009 10:11AM
No no no, they're Orcish! Someone just had the good fortune to name their child "Lolol"
SaintStryfe Jul 28th 2009 6:12PM
There actually used to be an NPC in the Telaar in Nagrand, Outland named Lolol. THey changed his name to Mybff Jill (My BFF Jill, like from those annoying cell phone ads a few years ago).

What pets, if any, do you get out of this?
Rin Jun 24th 2009 9:35AM
^This!
I could care less what the quests are, lemme see what the new pets are!
Cashew Jun 24th 2009 9:40AM
isn't it the baby raptor?
Rai Jun 24th 2009 9:41AM
I agree. Making fish-kids happy is a good deed and all but what's it gonna cost 'em?
Haarits Jun 24th 2009 1:44PM
The baby raptors (there's several of 'em, according to MMO-Champion) are separate. More on that later.
The pets for Northrend Children's Week SHOULD be a Curious Wolvar Pup and Curious Oracle Hatchling. Basically baby versions of the orphans themselves, I think, unless the orphans are that small.
As for the raptors, they drop from rare & elite raptors from all over. Gundrak, Ravasaur, Leaping, Razormaw, Darting, Razzashi, Deviate, and Obsidian (Obsidian bought at the pet shop in Dalaran).
