BlizzCon live stream order page up

The video streaming as a test on the page suggests that both Level 80 Tauren Chieftain will be playing and Jay Mohr will be hosting again, though that video is likely from last year, and not necessarily indicative of this year's show. It looks like the HQ stream will also require you to install the RayV player, while the lower quality stream will likely be available just through Flash. You can also keep in mind that though this is probably an excellent deal (especially if you want that pet -- I know many people will pick up the package for that code alone), there will be no shortage of information from BlizzCon for sure, as we'll have plenty to go around as well. But if you were planning on picking up the Internet stream, order on up.
BlizzCon 2009 is coming up on August 21st and 22nd! We've got all the latest news and information. At BlizzCon, you can play the latest games, meet your guildmates, and ask the developers your questions. Plus, there are some great looking costumes.Filed under: Analysis / Opinion, Events, Fan stuff, Blizzard, Economy, BlizzCon

psht, slackers! it's been up for hours! /whipcrack!
(admittedly, 2 days later than they said it would be active..)
Wolftech Jun 25th 2009 9:18PM
40 bucks for the pet, yep. I will be ordering :)
klink-o Jun 25th 2009 9:39PM
You and me both, guess I could do worse with the money...
ValPal Jun 25th 2009 9:35PM
Since these are a redemption code, does that mean that only one character gets the pet? Or is this a "bind to account" type of deal where all your characters can have it?
If it's the former, I am going to need all 6-8 weeks to decide which character gets it.
Nutsmonk Jun 25th 2009 9:53PM
well if its like last year you get one pet but you can mail it to all your toons
Llama_egg Jun 25th 2009 9:38PM
Am I the only one who's ordering because I really, really want to see BlizzCon and not just doing it for the pet?
Dajobe Jun 25th 2009 10:20PM

Sargenus Jun 25th 2009 11:26PM
I want the pet. But I also want to see Blizzcon, wondering if they'll be announcing a new expansion.
Alchemistmerlin Jun 25th 2009 10:50PM
*sigh*
40 bucks? Alright blizzard. Alright.
Todd Jun 25th 2009 11:52PM
So apparently Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Europe and Korea can get the pet but not those of us living in Japan? Wah. Blizzard hates Japan.
Faar Jun 26th 2009 4:12AM
Where do you see that australia, europe etc can get the pet? The live stream offer (with the pet) is ONLY available in the united states according to blizzard's page that is linked in the news post, because...well apparantly, the internet does not extend across US borders. Or what the f*** else is the problem?!

"Can I purchase the Pay Per View Internet stream if I live outside of the United States?
The BlizzCon Pay Per View Internet stream will be available for purchase in multiple regions around the world. Pricing and availability may vary, so please check back for more information as the ordering date gets closer."
I'm hoping they make it available in all European countries, there is no reason they should really limit it to just a few.
I'll be grabbing this at 29,95 € EUR when it's fully confirmed that I can watch it, I'm hoping they won't close orders early for some unearthly reason.
I'm also hoping that the 'High Resolution' sample viewable on the page is not the highest quality we will be able to watch in, as it is far from HD.
Also, is it reasonable to assume that I can go back and watch recorded bits if I miss something, or is this only a live stream?
Todd Jun 26th 2009 10:49PM
It's in the Faq:
"Please note that the BlizzCon 2009 World of Warcraft in-game pet is not available in all regions. Only players on World of Warcraft realms in North America (including those serving players in Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand), Europe, and Korea, are eligible to receive the pet. Pet redemption will require a World of Warcraft account to be merged with Battle.net account."
So technically I can get the pet I guess since I play on a US server (there are no Japanese servers). But the US address they need to mail it to could be a problem...

OK I ordered successfully. Guess the code will be emailed and not sent via snail mail:
"Get your Pet code
You will receive the Grunty the
Murloc Marine pet code and
redemption instructions via email
6-8 weeks after the event"
brasilnut13 Jun 26th 2009 12:21AM

Lios Jun 26th 2009 2:27AM

brandonavarnell Jun 26th 2009 1:59AM

Ian Corne Jun 26th 2009 3:23AM
Will the HQ streamer work on linux?
Ichigo Jun 26th 2009 4:51AM
Just wondering but is there no confirmation email when u place an order? Or a login to change the password etc?
Retropally Jun 26th 2009 7:03AM
So how does this work then? Do they show all of the events that happen at blizzcon, and then you get to choose which ones you want to watch etc?
I'll start counting the pennies....
