Mimiron hard mode nerfed
We've been seeing sporadic reports today that the Mimiron hard mode was nerfed via hotfix at some point during the night, and it appears those reports were correct. Bornakk just posted in the "recent in-game fixes" thread that the following changes were made to the hard mode of Ulduar's ingenious keeper:
- Flame damage reduced.
- Damage/health gained from Emergency Mode reduced slightly.
- Range of Emergency Fire Bot's Deafening Siren reduced in heroic; no longer cast on normal.
- Damage from Heat Wave in phase 2 reduced.
- Damage from Plasma Blast in phase 1 reduced.
That's a pretty wide array of nerfs. I haven't tried the hard mode - my guild is still working on getting the normal mode down consistently. I do love the fight on normal, though; it's not easy, but it is super-fun.
Hard-mode raiders, what do you think? Does this fall in the category of "why would you nerf a hard mode," or was he simply ridiculous before?

Meh, I don't think you will see much, the guilds that were going to get this down have in 25, and the fight required raid stacking etc to complete (holy nova anyone) which is supposedly against the game design currently (not that other guilds wouldn't eventually but yea.) I PERSONALLY feel that this was needed, but maybe a little over the top (No silence in phase 3 on 10 man?) if for nothing else putting it in the level of difficulty of where it should be, on par with one keeper and algalon.

My group is constantly taking down Freya+3, Hodir, and Thorim, and doesn't even stand a chance against the crazy raid damage p2 was. It actually required priest stacking to beat. BTPNTC.

I agree, it is horrible if your raid comp. includes anything less than 6 holy priests or resto druids. It was garbage for other healers. I think the nerf is justified for once.

Agreed as well. We started working on this fight the other week and it is absolutely brutal to try to keep everyone up. Most hard modes rely on at least a little luck but this one was really a little excessive on that front.

All of the other Hard Modes are cake compared to Mimiron, 1 shotting them all. This is the only fight holding my guild back from the Rusted Proto-Drake. Could make it to Phase 4 but the raid damage would be too much or we would focus on surviving too much and hit the enrage timer.

He was hard. He will continue to be hard. He was harder than the other keepers, he is now (likely) in-line with the rest of the keepers. I personally feel the encounter was fine, based on my limited attempts. It was the only hard-mode (or Wrath encounter, period thus far) that required the coordination and teamwork of older fights.
Mim- you will be missed.

Eh? Normal mode is really easy....
BUT! We were crushing our dicks in our car door against this for a few weeks (Hard Mode), because just touching the fire was killing us, or your in the last phase and the healer runs by a bot getting silenced and it's all over...was bad. Then, right before the nerf, our 10-man group went at it hard for a long time, and finally downed him! Then last night, we took 3 other people that needed it for the drakes too, and the first time we wiped on P3 and then downed him, and everyone was asking if it got nerfed, saying they never got silenced and the fire was much easier to heal through, I guess this confirms it!

Mimiron on Hard Mode was *way* harder than the others. You had to stack Priests and Resto Druids and you needed insane levels of dps.
The nerf keeps him very challenging, but more in line with the other hard modes.

Why not? It's hard mode, not almost impossible mode, or stacking priests mode. I think most people who have actually experienced this encounter would say it was somewhat ridiculous compared to other hard mode fights.

My 10-man group was getting close to knocking down Hardmode. I'm disappointed, personally, but I bet this will be the nudge we need to get him down.
My 25-man group was consistently getting him down on Easy but we had better things to do than wipe on hardmode for a full night.

For once, I agree with this nerf. While its nice to say "I did that pre-nerf", the fight, at least on heroic, took lots of raid stacking, and it was pretty tough (still havn't downed it, but maybe with this we got a chance). Not many of the top guilds have done this, and this nerf eliminates the need to have like 6 priests to stand a chance.

it was hard. it's still "hard". the fight was nearly impossible without a completely perfect raid comp for 10 man.
and by perfect raid comp i mean bringing priests and druids to heal.

I agree with the other posters, Mimiron's hard mode was far above above the hard modes for the other keepers. This nerf should actually bring him closer the same difficulty level.

You know what really needs a nerf? All the whining that happens when anything gets nerfed.
