Two Bosses Enter: Moorabi vs. Trollgore

Charging ... goring ... exploding ... cannibalizing ... This week's Two Bosses Enter deathmatch is ugly, ugly, ugly. In the ring: Moorabi of Gundrak versus Trollgore of Drak'tharon Keep. It's going to be rough, and it's going to be bloody.
The ground rules:
- Assume that the opponents share similar levels, health pools and comparative overall damage output.
- This match takes place in neutral territory, although the usual waves of Undead will come from ... someplace ... to accompany Trollgore.
- Don't get caught up in gameplay mechanics and what actual players might do in each encounter.
- Focus on the three S's: style, story and scale.
MoorabiWe fought back da Scourge. What chance joo be thinkin' JOO got?
Get ready for somethin'... much... BIGGAH!
Moorabi, the High Prophet of Man'toth, is an Ice Troll residing in Gundrak. The hallmark of his battle tactics: transforming into a Mammoth, which further increases his already healthy damage output.

TrollgoreCorpse go boom!
So hungry! Must feed!
Trollgore, a Dire Troll, is the first boss encountered in Drak'Tharon Keep. He is attacked during battle by a constant stream of non-elite Drakkari Trolls, whom he kills and thereby causes to explode (for considerable damage to anyone else nearby).

The smackdown
As usual, you should assume that overall, the foes share similar levels, health pools and a comparative overall damage output. They fight on neutral territory, although Trollgore's adds are available as usual.
Who will persevere? Come up with a convincing scenario that will sway other readers to vote for your victor of choice, and then show us your stuff in the comments.

I think Moorabi has this in the bag.
Steelpaw Jun 25th 2009 5:11PM
Trollgore is going to get gored. Since he has no way to interrupt he's not even in the running to get the less-rabi achievement let alone slow his inevitable demise at the hands of mammoth moorabi.
NekoDaimyo Jun 25th 2009 5:15PM
As Moorabi says, they've already fought off the scourge once, and if Trollgore isn't a scourge agent, I'd be kinda surprised.
Mordockk Jun 25th 2009 5:19PM
TrollGore Wins:
I tried the the Less-Rabi achievement a million times before we eventually figured we should zerg him without the healer. Moorabi's damage is weak at best and our tank was able to outlast the incoming damage enough for us to get a kill without a healer! So the longer the fight lasts...the more damage trollgore is going to do because his physical damage is going to be increasing(consume) and he'll cast an infected wound on moorabi...so towards the end of the fight trollgore's Crush will be hitting Moorabi so hard he will fall. Not to mention, the longer it takes to kill Trollgore the more adds he will have been able to explode in Moorabis stupid banana sized teeth! TROLLGORE WINS IN AN UPSET!

What an epically dull match-up.
Loken farts and kills both of them at the same time.
Candina@WH Jun 25th 2009 5:37PM
Moorabi gores Trollgore. No question. Trollgore gets in a few good hits, and buffs his DPS via consume. But Moorabi gets much bigger, Troll has no way to interrupt and goes squish in either the first or second transform.
The fight doesn't last long enough for Trollgore to build up corpses.

I have to be honest. I find these "Two Bosses Enter" stories to be the most uninteresting posts on the site. It's annoying seeing them show up in my RSS feed as well as the pointless followup stories saying which boss "won." They're completely meaningless, and I don't get the appeal. If there's no real WoW news, I'd rather just not have any posts so that my RSS watcher doesn't light up with a new article that turns out to be pointless.
Just offering my opinion, flame away.

Sorry you feel disappointed, friend. You should be asking for a refund of your subscription fee, since the quality of the site is below your expectations.
...Oh yeah, that's right. WHAT fee? :D
Dude, you obviously cared enough about the matchup to post a whine about it. Next time, make your trollpost a little less transparent, okay?
Heilig Jun 25th 2009 6:15PM
You're all forgetting the adds. Moorabi has no way to deal with the adds. if he ignores them, Trollgore gets buffed dramatically as the adds stack up and the consume stacks to ridiculous levels. If he kills them, he gets raped by Corpse Explosions. There's a reason you tank Trollgore away from the person handling the adds, you know. Moorabi has no way to deal with this.
Trollgore wins by a mile.
Rowan Jun 25th 2009 9:02PM
He has Quake and Ground Tremor; that's 2 AoE's! With adds being non-elite he can easily pulverize them before they get too close to Trollgore.
Moorabi win's this hands down.
Heilig Jun 26th 2009 3:15AM
Ground Tremor is close range, and Quake is primarily a stun. The adds wouldn't die until they got to Trollgore, whereupon he would explode the corpses right into Moorabi's trunk. Game over.
Grinton Jun 25th 2009 7:02PM
What this fight comes down to is a battle of tusks. and Though Trollgore would start of with the upper lower-bite, it's hard to beat what that pachyderm is paching. (badum tish)
Also, to respond to Heilig, Moorabi has two abilities to control adds. So between the stomping and the tusks, Moorabi wins by a long shot.

Why are so many people voting trollgore? Think about it.
The only abilities moorabi has is a pitiful stab (he huge, howzat gonna do much to him?), a cast time reducing shout (useless, maybe enough to get trollgore to flinch for a millisecond or 2) and finally an aoe earthquake ability (this could actually help him as it would quickly destroy the other drakkari and give him more corpses to explode).
This is how I see it going down.
Moorabi runs at Trollgore, hits Mojo frenzy to speed himself up and get a couple of stabs in and a determined stab, Trollgore gets hurt by this but not much (tiny stabs remember) and slams him down to the ground with both arms with crush, completely pinning him, then infects the open wound now in his leg and knocks him away like a rag doll.
Meanwhile loads of drakkari trolls run into the room and swarm Trollgore, jumping on him and grabbing him, distracting while Moorabi manages to get to his feet.
He took a lot of damage in that crush along with smashing into the wall, he wouldnt be surprised if something was broken.
He notices Trollgore plucking the drakkari trolls of himself, while they futilely hit him with the maces and spears, and realises this is his last chance to get at him, he runs at full speed towards him and uses ground tremor to try and give himself a good opening.
Trollgore, having completely forgotten about Moorabi, is caught of guard at this, and gets knocked of his feet by a jagged rock that juts out of the ground, with the trolls falling on top of him and boulders falling and crushing them on top of him.
Moorabi thinks he has won and stares in disbelief at the pile rubble, then, suddenly, he rubble starts violently moving, and Trollgore smashes straight out of his earthen prison!
he had consumed the trolls as they died on top of him, and as he destroy the rubble, the bodies fly out in all directions off the room, a couple of them straight at Moorabi!
Trollgore detonates the corpses in mid-air and the resulting explosion brings Moorabi to his knees.
Trollgore smiles as he see the life draining from his eyes, but then the ground begins to shake violently, with that last of his breath Moorabi screams: "Get ready for somethin'... much... BIGGAH!"
Moorabi morphs into the mammoth aspect of the troll gods and charges straight at Trollgore, Trollgore ain't the brightest fellow and starts to panic, he holds his out in front of and.... Moorabi's horns make contact with Trollgore's chest, he gores him straight though his chest, Trollgore gasps for air as he takes his final strangled breaths and collapses.
Moorabi changes back into troll form, and then proceeds to absorb the mojo from the dire trolls body, leaving him shrivelled and rotting, Moorabi walks away triumphant, limping he feels the wound spreading to the rest of his leg, he better go see one his women for some healing quick, wouldn't want to die minutes he'd destroyed his for, how would that prove himself to the Ice king? That was a wall of text spawned from WoW lore, and a love for epic battles. (Betcha didn't think Moorabi was gonna win after my comment at the start [ ;

I just want it on record that since Two Bosses Enter has started I have picked the opposite of the majority EVERY SINGLE TIME. I'm not exaggerating, every single one I've gone for the minority pick.
I don't think Moorabi has the DPS to outlast Trollgore's consume spam especially with Trollgore still getting to use corpse explosion.
Siaperas Jun 25th 2009 8:13PM
If these two trolls just faced each other and decided to simply punch one another, Moorabi could punch first but would lose to Trollgore's counter punch. I mean just look at them, Trollgore would easily win in a boxing match. Unfortunately for Trollgore, this is a fight to the death, which means Moorabi is going to be using his tricks, and I don't believe Trollgore's tricks are as good.
Since Trollgore is fighting against several Drakkari trolls, I believe that like players with a friendly faction, Moorabi wouldn't be able to attack them. This is where Trollgore has the advantage as several trolls will rush him and allow him to build up stacks. However, Trollgore doesn't strike me as a particularly smart troll. Moorabi, on the other hand, is a high prophet of the Drakkari imbued with the power of mammoth god. He is going to realize very quickly that the other Drakkari are helping Trollgore more than they're actually causing harm to himi. Here, if we permit, he can command them to leave him alone with Trollgore. Regardless of whether or not he gets the other trolls to leave, he will still win. The moment he realizes what Trollgore is doing, he's going to hit him with everything he's got, which means he's going to change into his mammoth form. As powerful as Trollgore is, he's not going to be able to handle that. It would be similar to a body builder and an elephant charging each other then. Moorabi takes down Trollgore, and demonstrates why he's in his position of power.
Rai Jun 25th 2009 8:33PM
Moorabi.
All it'd take is stabbing Trollgore once and turning into a mammoth would cause a universe of hurt for the big guy.
arato Jun 25th 2009 11:37PM
Who has the better catchphrase? Trollgore hands down:
Corpse Go Boom!
Game over.
Kashind Jun 26th 2009 12:46PM
This would be a close fight, but I believe Moorabi would be able to pull away with the win.
Trollgore has no kinds of stuns or interrupts whatsoever. This means Moorabi is going to be spending most of the fight in mammoth form which can put out a heck of a lot of damage.
Moorabi also has two AOE attacks which should be enough to burn down the non-elite adds that Trollgore will summon quite quickly. This means that they will likely be too far away from Trollgore's 10 yard range to be exploded, and will most likely be dead before he can consume them.
Trollgore would be able to get off some good damage with the Consumes stacking and having an Infected Wound permanently in place, but I believe that Moorabi in mammoth form the whole fight with a Gore attack in place at all times while AOEing all adds and the boss would be able take the win, barely.

trollgore is a boss? ;)
