Breakfast Topic: What would you like to see in a WoW comic?

While I enjoyed Ashbringer, I take a great liking to Warcraft Legends because it explores the other aspects or characters of Azeroth. The ongoing series can focus on well-known guys like Varian Wrynn, but Warcraft Legends are cool side-stories of the unknown guys. That opens up a world of potential. We could see stories about those NPCs we always see all over the place. Maybe we can get a comic about Cro Threadstrong and find out why he hates the fruit vendor so much. How about stories about the wandering "named" NPCs in Dalaran? Minigob Manabonk, maybe?
On the flip side, how about when the characters in the comic stories suddenly make their way into the game? We know Broll Bearmantle and Valeera Sanguinar have their roots in toys and comics, and players can now meet them in WoW. This whole idea of comics as an extension of the game's story is really cool, and I hope Wildstorm and Tokyopop keep putting out great comics and characters. Is there anything in particular about the World of Warcraft that you'd like to see in comic form? A favorite character? A particular period or special event? Share your thoughts!

One word: Saurfang.
Ideally I'd like to see his past, see the corruption and later redemption of the Orcs through his eyes. His speech in Warsong Hold gives us some insight into what he might have done and his feelings about it now. He is generally regarded as one of Warcraft's most awesome characters yet his backstory has not been fleshed out. Give us moar Saurfang!

Turalyon and Alleria are the first that come to mind.. Though, to be honest, I'm done with the comics. I'd rather see them continue the main story as Warcraft 4.

I'd like to see Xarantaur be added into a WoW Comic. He's one of the few really cool Tauren Heroes and the extent of his appearance is a single horde quest chain in Storm Peaks. This incredible Druid, one of the first Tauren Druid and indeed one of the earliest druids. He's this incredible fountain of knowledge and has been used very scarcely.

This.
And we dont mean the "i'm going to kill you w/o a thought b/c I have battle lust on me" horde. I'm talking lets see some stories about Broxigar (sp?), Saurfang, Thrall, Garona, Zabra Hex, etc... Lets give some Horde the really thick and heavy lore figures that aren't faction leaders, and lets see the other faction leaders get more involved. I have never even heard of anything other than a handful of quests on my warrior about the Tauren leader - hell I dont even know his name w/o having to look it up. Thats not good, seeing as everyone can name the alliance leaders easy. Who is the BE leader? Liadrin? or some other dude?
As it stands atm, the Horde only has 2 faction leaders, and one of them we should be suspicious of b/c of what we read in the Arthas novel: Thrall and Sylvanas.
Also, I would love to see something explaining where Turalyon and Alleria are, and where they were during the entire time we were in TBC.

@VSUReaper:
Actually, you make a very good point regarding blood elf leadership. Theron still has the title of "regent," suggesting that his position as leader is a temporary one. The blood elves (or rather, the ones loyal to the Horde) still do not have a PERMANENT leader, which is something that's just BEGGING to have a story written about it, be it in a comic, a quest chain in a future expansion, or SOMETHING. Does another noble family come up and institute a new monarchy? Or does someone like Theron or Liadrin take up a permanent leadership mantle and create something of a more parliamentary system of rule, becoming Prime Minister Theron or Premier Liadrin?
I suppose I shouldn't expect ANYTHING resembling this sort of political development in an RTS/MMO computer game series, but it just bugs me that two years out from Burning Crusade, one of the primary playable races still does not have a legitimate, long-term ruler (Theron doesn't even have a unique model or voice!).

Well my main characters are mage and warlock.. and still a baby druid so more on those classes. For mages, I would love to see more Kirin Tor internal stuff.
Warlocks, Guldan and the Shadow Council.. and although I know some haters are out there from a previous thread, blood elf warlocks as well that aren't painted as evil monsters.
For druids I would love to see tauren and night elves together and see how they get past the alliance/horde thing.
Over all though I would love more horde representation in the comics. Its always from the Alliance pov and horde are painted as evil. In the past that may have been son, but its not anymore.

Ratshag versus Windshadow.
The NPCs are great and all, but the appeal of the game is that WE are the protagonists of the story we all play. Wrynn and Co. are rather only shiny cardboard props compared to the stories our characters have made, with each other. It's the difference between family history and fairy tales.

What happened to Mankriks wife?!
Mailia Jun 26th 2009 9:00AM
She couldn't take the Barrens chat.
Comic over.

An Alliance rogue, not "Vancleef" or some bad guy, a seriously honourable rogue. Preferably a gnomish tinker too ...
... And Maybe he could be called Nindle?
Jay Jun 26th 2009 9:41AM
As an older fan of WoW I hope they stay away from the anime style of artwork. Anime has such a kiddie feel to it.
Joe Jun 28th 2009 12:03AM
Agreed!
Bhraun Jun 26th 2009 9:37AM
More tauren involvement... Tauren heroes please. Hmm maybe a Shaman & Druid Tauren duo.
Need more Beef, /flex.
Forsaken and Gnomes need more screentime as well. But really.. more Tauren.

I'd like to see a shadow priest story.
In a book, a comic, or anywhere at all in the game.
Candina@WH Jun 26th 2009 10:21AM
The Excruitiatingly Painful and Dishonorable Death of King Varian Wrynn.
In technicolor.
Candina@WH Jun 26th 2009 10:23AM
But I would settle for the equally painful... yada yada... death of Garrosh Hellscream.
saadskel Jun 26th 2009 10:47AM
First thing i thought when i saw the pic was why is Stryfe fighting an orc...guess i read too many x-men comics lol
Anyway, i guess i'd like to see a druid story and definitely a shadow priest story like someone mentioned above, and they have to have an engineer in there too, just not a gnome or goblin one. Not sure what has been in the comics though since i haven't read any of the warcraft ones. I love warcraft lore, but i'm just not into the comics for some reason.
