Video of new Tauren Druid forms in patch 3.2
Hail and well met, Druid colleagues. I ventured into the scary realm of moviemaking in order to capture the new Druid forms on the PTR. Because my Hordeside main copied over first, we'll take care of the Tauren initially. The Night Elf video is in progress, and I've been told that Blizzard fixed the bug where one of the NE bear forms wasn't properly linked to a hair color, so stay tuned.
Anyway, this is my first video and I apologize for the amateurish quality; I'll get better (though not necessarily less dorky) with practice, but I really wanted to get this out for everyone who can't get on the PTR but wants to see what the new forms look like in motion. If you can't run sound at the moment, the only really pertinent commentary is that: a). The forms are beautiful: b). They look great in motion: c). For whatever reason, the bear butt has actually grown, and: d). The Night Elf video is on its way.
If you're having issues with Viddler, you can find the same video (in slightly higher quality) here on YouTube.

That was a perfectly good first video! Much better than most of us could do, I bet. Anything flashier would have distracted from the forms, which was the point and all. They really do look great in motion (except for that jump glitch).

WTB species change.
A hugely deserved boon to all the tauren druids who put up with their cat form for so long; your new models are absolutely gorgeous. Also, about eighty times better than the nelf forms. Hopefully the chasm of originality, quality and visual impact is less vast for the coming Moonkin forms!

The nelf forms (especially cat) haven't really changed much - they weren't broke, they didn't need fixing. That said, I like the improvements they've made :)

Excellent video! I'm more excited after seen them in motion. Can't wait for the Nelf ones. I hope when they finally release the patch i wont find the large behinds too distracting :)

Tips for a better video:
1. Only show what you have to. 9:24 is way too long. Get in, get out.
2. Only say what you have to. Dal is laggy, vada, vada. Don't ramble. Only terse remarks concerning the video subject is necessary and desired.
3. Film from a remote area when possible. Other PC's are distracting.

Good vid, but I agree with ADA's remarks. A bit tighter editing would improve the experience. That said, thanks for the video and I look forward to the Nelf one!

The video didnt seem too long for me. She was charming and personable.
Dont change a thing.

Why new druid forms and not shaman wolf forms?
Jack Spicer Jun 28th 2009 2:25PM
Shaman don't spend as much time as feral druids do staring at their animal forms.
Arawn Jun 28th 2009 2:30PM
If shaman spent 99% of their time in ghost wolf no matter what part of the game they're playing, then they'd probably get an updated ghost wolf form after 4-5 years as well.

I would assume it's the druid

Very nice vid. I'm a moonkin/tree and I'm looking forward to this hit the servers. The cat form looks so nice that I'm thinking of use it in PvP.

5/10 for the video quality, sorry
10/10 for the soft, sweet and sexy voice
Too bad NE cat form is just ridiculous. Higer quality model, silly skins and pinks stuff.

Great video, love the new forms. Can't wait for the night elf video. I don't play my druid anymore, but I'm tired of seeing the same forms when grouped with them none-the-less.
Quick note, it's a bit hard to hear you at times, maybe boost your voice's volume a bit more. Other than that, excellent job for a first video. *bows in respect*

I definitely wasn't happy with the audio here; hopefully the NE one comes out a bit better. I'm shooting that one in Stormwind and so far I think the balance between ingame and outgame sound is easier on the ears!
Jack Spicer Jun 28th 2009 2:25PM
I'm a little disappointed that gray taurens don't get a gray cat form.
Crash Jun 28th 2009 2:25PM
Voice need to be a lil bit louder compared to game sounds, I sometimes had troubles hearing you through shifting roar.
Also, bears butts got buffed, yay!
Allison Robert Jun 28th 2009 2:41PM
Yeah, I only realized afterwards just how loud some of the ingame sounds are. I used iMovie and I'll play around with the audio a little more for the NE forms to see if that helps, because it was a lot more distracting than I'd like.

Loved the video Alli, it was nice to see my future main tank in motion, but with a whole world to record in I think Silvermoon or Thunder Bluff would have been less crowded, better lit choices for a showcase video.
Allison Robert Jun 28th 2009 2:45PM
That was the conclusion that I arrived at as well -- the light in Silvermoon and TB is much better for a video -- but it's a sad truth of Horde cities that the two with the best lighting are the two without a barbershop. As that would have added a lot of time to a post that I hoped to get out fairly quickly, I just tried to find a suitable area in Orgrimmar. But yeah, I would have much preferred shooting this in TB or Silvermoon.
